| News Comment | I‘m Afraid It Could Be a Long Season - Notes for Brentford at 12:22:27
The Brentford supporter who suggested they should pick the biggest 11 and "break a few legs" is an idiot. I hope we beat the soundly playing the football we can. They can then place their depiction of our team, manager and club where the sun don't shine. We're not the bunch of thugs they suggest. |

Jimmys and Bontcho - League of Ireland season is in full swing when we arrive, so it might not be as easy arrange games. |
| News Comment | Town Face Shelbourne in Pre-Season at 15:19:57
Real Madrid have come to Carton House before - and the Irish rugby team are regulars there. Saw us at Tolka Park in GB's last Summer in charge (we played Bray and a league of Ireland selection during that preseason). One memory I have of that visit to Ireland is of a few young local kids pointing out Titus Bramble and saying he was our new signing, Finidi George. Seems like such a long time ago! Will be at Tolka Park on 6 July and look forward to that! Hope all who can make it very much enjoy their visit and the game. |

A disappointing result. A game we could/should have won. It hurts today! Mick probably needs a few new faces before the window closes. Hopefully he will get the necessary backing. Now is the time for all of us -board, players, supporters etc to stand together, close ranks, and beat the drop. |

Best of luck to Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor. Hopefully a new and successful chapter is opening for our club and its supporters. |
| News Comment | Town Topic: Are Town Fans Overreacting to Bad Start? at 10:06:53
Most of us are disappointed with the start but still look forward in hope - we have played some decent football this season. Initially, my reaction to "twittergate" was that it would be preferable for JET and Chopra to do their talking on the pitch, but on balance, whereas many posters here are decent and genuine fans, who post genuine comments/thoughts on the forums etc, there is a small minority who aren't. I think this is acknowledged by JET and Chopra in the present context. In our hour of need, we need a strong sense of purpose and unity between the management, players and fans, a unity which sadly does not seem to be always there. It is up to everyone to do their part, and we can still have a good season. "United we stand". |
| News Comment | Jewell: Goals We Concede Are Beyond Belief at 22:57:16
It is a bit worrying if these headlines remain so frequent. Earlier this week, JET took it upon himself to ask us to chill out and get behind the team. Hopefully, he will start doing his talking on the pitch - and soon. Ditto his colleagues. Unforutnately, Jewell doesn't seem to be getting things right tactically, or else the players just aren't performing for him. Maybe it will change dramatically when season begins, but I must admit to having my doubts. Unless we get the basics right, we won't make the progress we all want to make, and unfortunately, Jewell is not the first manager to express frustrations as he has done again this evening. |
| News Comment | Chambers Signs for Town at 15:19:07
Good luck and welcome to Luke Chambers. Hopefully his move will be a big success for all. |
| News Comment | Hewitt Deal Done at 14:42:30
Congratulations to all concerned. Hope Elliot Hewitt has a long and very successful career here. |
| News Comment | Pompey Might Not Finish Season at 16:13:18
From a footballing perspective, it is very sad to read about the possible end for any club. Given their position, even if they cling on until season's end, one can imagine how damaging relegation would be for them. From our own purely selfish point of view, losing 6 points would not be welcome. Hopefully football comes to terms with the needs for financial balance. It does seem like they need to get transfer fees now for players that will "transfer" in the Summer. I've obviously no idea if we'll go back in for either of the 3 amigos but if we're still interested, it sounds like it Portsmouth would be glad to hear! If any approaches are made, by us or anyone else, hopefully they will be done appropriately. |
| News Comment | Falkirk Defender Targeted at 09:40:38
Brighton have a bid of 300K accepted while we mess around. Given that 300K is not the most significant of sums, and that Brighton have been left to head the race, I would suggest that it is high time that Mr Evans reviewed the manner of negotiating with other clubs. Bidding for the sake of it or in the knowledge your "first bid is always rejected" is not a practice everyone subscribes to. We don't need a reputation for messing around. |
| News Comment | Hyam an Example to Other Players at 09:38:37
Agree with the posts above in relation to Jewell wanting to send Hyam out on loan. The sooner Jewell's management is terminated the better. |
