| News Comment | Ashton Open to Debate on UEFA Article 48 at 15:58:13
Having the covid season watching on iFollow made me realise just how much more entertaining the game is at the ground. I get some can't get there, but if you can, save your pennies and go. |
| News Comment | Town to Wear Blackout Kit Against Derby at 16:16:59
Yes Yes and Yes We need to make a change to banish the sky tv hoodoo and this is part one of the McKenna masterplan...blue doesn't work on sky lol! |
| News Comment | Ashton: We're Looking at Our Options On Land Behind Stand at 12:44:37
I suspect with the new sports/pool complex being planned on the car park too, the whole area will be carefully considered, could be a cracking bit of regeneration going on there in a few years (if we get promoted). |
| News Comment | Town Face Losing Gibbs as Premier League Clubs Hover at 12:52:20
Still find it hard to swallow that clubs take on players, give them a shot at being a pro and then can leave for pretty much nothing. I appreciate them perhaps wanting to leave, but that fact that a market value is rarely there is hard on the coaches etc who invest their time and effort and then there's little reward. The coaches in academy still need paying and if an academy doesn't a) make money or b) produce first team players, these coaches and set up won't get paid or won't have a job. Sad that a club doesn't get 'thanked' appropriately. That being said, I know there have been some reported issues, so perhaps Gibbs feels he's not had the help and opportunity he wanted....or indeed the right contract that he's worth? Who knows, all speculative, just the whole academy thing hurts (especially when I was donating to it for a few years lol!) |
| News Comment | Season Ticket Prices Frozen and Free Tickets For U19s and U12s at 16:49:22
I'll probably be an outlier here, but i've not had a season ticket for years. This year i've spent £350 on iFollow. Those prices seem pretty decent. Plus the club have just lost £1m.....what more do people want, still a business to run (even more so now) |
| News Comment | Dozzell Red Card Appeal Unsuccessful at 09:27:01
If you want to keep employees (FA with refs) then you need to support them when they make mistakes and not be seen to openly punish them unless it's along the lines of gross misconduct. If the FA continually overturned ref decisions, the refs would just walk away as the subsequent hassle would be far too much. Not correct, but I understand it. If you continuously undermine your staff you won't have any! |
| News Comment | Milne: Sheeran Portman Road Gig Would Be Fantastic at 11:10:01
Sheeran is hugely popular with youngsters, we need the next generation to have an interest in the club and if he can bring anything whatsoever, it should be welcomed not ridiculed. |
| News Comment | Chambers: I'd Love to Manage Town One Day at 14:18:11
Never assume. Something I believe strongly in. Just because someone's a top player, doesn't mean they'll make a great coach and completely the opposite is true. Chambers could well be brilliant. Undoubtedly he'll have been influenced by McCarthy, but it doesn't mean he has the same footballing thoughts when it comes to playing the game. No doubt he'd be good on the man management side of things. |
| News Comment | Hyam Still None the Wiser On Town Future at 16:21:04
He's hardly bellyaching, just stating facts. Personally, I think this is why a new manager should be in place now, how on earth can we let contracts be decided without the new manager having any input? It's ridiculous. |
| News Comment | Chambers: We Want the Manager Here Next Season, Simple as That at 06:33:28
I feel for him with Dozzell and Huws missing. I think we'd almost certainly be pushing for playoffs. That's the sole reason I think Mick has been unlucky this season...that first game was a breath of fresh air. I don't know what the answer is but consistency is important |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Not Much I Can Do to Affect Bart Signing Contract at 17:06:46
I doubt i'd sign a new contract if I though my boss was potentially leaving for another company....unless I knew who the replacement was and happy with it. Mick will strip this club of all the decent players in no time should he leave. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Next Year's Squad Stronger After Return of Long-Term Injured at 12:39:07
This is the sole reason I do feel a bit of empathy with McCarthy. He doesn't help himself at times, but this season could have been so much different with a fully fit Huws, let alone Adeyemi and Dozzell. Must be hugely frustrating for Mick, but he can't turn around and say "lads who've come in have been pony" can he? |
| News Comment | McCarthy Issues Apology for Language at 14:27:27
Never seen so many men act like they're offended by a bit of language from another man at a football match. Who cares who it was aimed at? If it was at the fans, then fair play, the guy has balls for sticking up for himself. |
