I'm not 100% sure on the tree - but it's the garden full of weeds/brambles that is about 7ft (it might have been 15 years since the garden was trimmed!) As far as I know just cutting it all back. Cheers that's handy to know |

See that's tempting, particularly as I have little to do with my weekends and a garden shredder just sounds cool :) I'm actually in London, so regular trips to do this probably isn't the best idea. Quite happy with the idea of a self-employed person having a bit of work too given the circumstances, just don't want to end up paying over the odds. Cheers for the reply and the subsequent 10 mins of procrastination looking at garden shredders, enjoyed that! [Post edited 10 Apr 2020 21:24]

| Forum Thread | Question for any garden clearance experts on here at 20:42 10 Apr 2020
So, for one reason or another a family member in Clacton has a garden which is wildly overgrown with brambles, weeds, bushes and a tree. We're talking 6-7 feet high. They're now on the shielded list, so I seem to have inherited the thankless task of trying to get this sorted so they can at least go outside. It's about 600 square feet. I've had one quote (2 man job for 2 days) which was £850. It's the only quote I've managed to get, and includes cutting that all back and disposing of the waste. So, given I have no idea if that's good or bad - does anyone else? Thanks in advance! |

Sorry for the delay all! I started a new job a couple of weeks ago (surreal experience but I know I'm fortunate), and this week has been manic! I work in university admissions so every announcement about exams = masses of questions! I'll get the tables updated later and update you on the knock-out phase "Fortunately" I've been knocked out so won't have to fit in any games |
| Forum Thread | TWTD FIFA Tournament - GROUP STAGE DRAW - starts tomorrow at 18:48 25 Mar 2020
Hi all, Thank you for your entries - I ran this earlier this afternoon based on the Doodle form. All group games to be arranged between individual posters, to be completed and scores reported back by 10pm Sunday 5th April. That's a game every 2-3 days which seems achievable. Rules 1. Standard league rules, 3pts for a win, 1 pt for a draw. Top 2 qualify for last 16 2. Goal difference first separator if points equal, then goals scored 2. All teams to be at the same star rating (allocation TBC). I was going to allocate a random 3* team to everyone tonight - would appreciate feedback on this if there are objections/alternative views? 3. Winner to send the completed score through to me on here and I'll maintain the league tables (will be viewable on Google sheets later in the week). I'm sure we won't have any dishonesty but feel free to take a photo if you're more cynical just in case of disputes 4. Disconnecting is not cool League Tables As promised - the results will be updated and there's a live league table (Excel's a wonderful thing) - available at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xDgrjR5izX3itWpF3FsYIwGZL9kQ9ao7o0Ztt7Xs Any questions or clarification needed - let me know. Enjoy :) [Post edited 29 Mar 2020 21:23]

Not very liberal to resort to sexist insults rather than providing an actual critique of her performance. #bekind *edit - intentional or not [Post edited 25 Mar 2020 13:52]

I'm with you, that's the plan especially now there are enough people for a group stage as it removes the risk of playing one game and being eliminated. I'm open for anyone to critique that if there are strong opinions though. There aren't enough 5* rated teams for everyone to have one and it be equal, whereas further down the quality list there are so I may copy and paste them into a randomizer and see what happens. |

Agreed. Criticising the comms and the strategy can be done independently with each other, and I don't see the need to defend the comms out of loyalty to the strategy. Personally I'm not convinced by both. The below is about as conclusive you can get that the comms were not clear at all. Spot the difference between the UK governments 9pm and 10pm advice after the PM's address Monday.

I'm not normally a fan of Schneider's tweets but I think that's fairly accurate actually. What's wrong with it? The government themselves didn't even find the advice clear |

It's not about picking sides here, but I genuinely can't understand how any one could read this thread and/or see how the advice is being practically interpreted by people in different ways - and then argue that the comms around this were clear? I'm putting my political leanings aside and hoping that this government do what needs to be done. I don't actually dispute too much of the approach so far, but the comms around it have been consistently "clarified" and then undermined by other ministers since the very start. I also took it as key workers initially, and thought that was relatively "clear" |
