| Forum Reply | Players I’ve been impressed with that we may or may not look at. at 18:40 1 May 2024
Sheaf from Cov & Clarke from Sunderland both look like they’d make the grade a level up to me. If we were to look for players from somewhere more exotic I would love to see us move for Andre from Fluminense and Pablo Solari from River Plate. Both ‘the right sort’, got great engines on them (so think they’d cope well with McKenna’s style and Prem intensity) and excellent players technically - think those two are headed for the very top and wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Brighton were to target them. |

To be fair, that’s a pretty funny post! If it happened I’d want a statue for the squirrel. |

Your complete misuse of a comma here makes it sound like you believe what the Brizzle fans were saying! Missed this as the Latin American ESPN stream cut off as soon as the final whistle went (think all that time added on had stretched the broadcast beyond what they’d been expecting). Can’t wait to see town in 5 for this one! |

This would be great, and a nice reflection of Hladky getting ten minutes against Exeter last year. Would also like to see both Wednesday and Plymouth stay up. Not worried about Nodge getting in the play offs - would be great to see them lose there, and if they go up with us at least it means we get the derby next year. Win-win innit. |

Weird one for our second goal - Edmundson was only offside because of a blatant push by their player. Surely you can’t just push an opponent into being offside and therefore deny them the chance to get involved, but equally what a weird penalty that would be. |

Feels like it’s taking about an hour to pass. I’m a nervous wreck! |

You have to move the player name by holding and moving it up/down to go next to the corresponding letter which is missing from their name. |

I’m so glad it’s not just me that’s so badly affected by this. Like, we’ve spent so long waiting for times like these, and now that they’re here it’s just all a bit too much isn’t it? Zero productivity at work today. Tomorrow gunna be even worse. Wednesday is a national holiday here. Whole week is basically a write off! |

Oh cracking! I live in Santiago, shoot me a message if you’re likely to have any free time while you’re down here and I can give you some recommendations for stuff to do while you’re in town. Football season here runs calendar year but I think the Primera division stops for a break after the first weekend in June because it’s Copa America this year. There may be Copa Chile games running though - that’s what they’ve done alongside the international tournament break in past years. Haven’t seen anything announced but will try to remember to give you a shout if I see anything. [Post edited 29 Apr 21:56]

I’ll be 33. I was 9 when we got promoted in 2000. I live in Chile so will have to be up at 7:30 to watch the Hudds game, after being out at a friend’s wedding on Friday, so probably going to be hanging like f*€! This is going to be the best or worst birthday ever. |

Top post this Rommy, and has actually helped me feel a bit calmer and stop to reflect on the big picture for a moment. And then to top it off you’ve dropped this reply with perhaps the funniest Ipswich fan origin story I’ve ever heard - always thought tractorboys was a great and silly nickname, but to think a diehard fan like you ended up being one of us through a love of tractors? That’s top stuff. |

Rich from Blue Monday can probably hook us all up - think he’s got a season ticket at Cov hasn’t he? Haha to be fair, sitting in the home end to watch your team away isn’t that fun - done it a couple of times with the side I follow here in Chile. You can’t celebrate when you score, and it’s rubbish when the home team score and everyone around you is going mental! |

Don’t worry too much about the reactions, Nutters. People were the same on my post back in August, and some responses were well over the top (even had a couple saying they would love to give me a punch, etc.) Just as you reacted emotionally to the game today, some will react emotionally to your post in defence of Vaz. People will soon forget, and anyone with more than half a brain cell will realise you’re generally a pretty balanced poster that’s been here on the forum a long time. We’re all blues here! Uppa Town! |

I made a similar mistake to this when we lost to Leeds at home earlier this season (reactive post on the forum in the heat of the moment, in response to a couple of what I perceived as bad Hladky errors) and quite rightly got panned as you have been on this one. To be fair, Vaz has his limitations and makes mistakes sometimes, but he’s saved us a lot more points than he’s cost us over the course of the season. I really didn’t think he was capable of making the step up he has made this year, but he’s proved me well wrong. FWIW, I’d say the first one tonight was more at Morsy’s door than Hladky’s, and he could have done better on the third but was also pretty unlucky that it’s fallen straight to Ohio given it’s a quick, instinctive reaction save. We move on to Tuesday. Win at Cov and tonight will look like a great point! |
| Forum Reply | Whya re these idiots sympathising with the defender on that handball? at 17:33 21 Apr 2024
Think his arms were spread as if to say ‘I’m letting this ball go’ as he didn’t realise he had someone behind him, then he tried to bring his arms back in once he saw the player there but it was too late. Stonewall pen, you can’t block a cross with an extended arm inside the six-yard box like that. Extra time is the least Cov have deserved. United getting their keeper booked for time wasting against a side from a division below says it all - proper embarrassing from them. |
