And by my reckoning, over the last two league seasons, we have: Only lost 10.8% of our games Scored an average of 2.09 goals per game. Won 70% of the total points available. Absolutely jaw dropping. |

Somewhere in the depths of Elland Road, white ribbons are being untied from an identical trophy to the one Morsy lifted. The ribbons and trophy, along with the "PROMOTED 2024" board, and all those "We're Going Up!" flags provided by the EFL and Sky Bet, are all being loaded into a van, and the van heading off down the M1. Beautiful, isn't it? (At least I assume that's the case. I doubt the EFL would go to the expense of having a helicopter in a field somewhere near Kettering filled with paraphernalia for a runners up prize ready to head north or east at a moments notice) |

Not to mention 193 goals. Should have been 200 points 200 goals. Booooooooooooooo. |

Blow the whistle ref! (Might be being a tad optimistic here) |

Might need to dust off The Men Who Made The Town, but I think I'm right in saying originally the pitch was east/west - it was a cricket pitch in the summer. Suspect that it was shifted around sharpish because as there would have been no Constantine Road bus/tram garage at that time, and obviously no stand at the western end, there would have been quite big problems dealing with the sun as nothing would be blocking it. |

Nah, not Oregon, but Dorset. Get ready for those local derbies with Weymouth. |
| Forum Reply | Swimming pool Portman Road at 16:47 12 Mar 2024
I've said this several times, but I do suspect Portman Road itself will be pedestrianised anyway between the Sir Alf statue and the access to Churchmans Lofts. Even before they stuck the planters at the Princes Street end, not that many people used it. Before Barrack Corner was blocked off, you'd have used it to get from Norwich Road to the station and Chantry, but obviously these days you'd use Chevallier Street/Yarmouth Road/West End Road or Civic Drive. Unless there's a huge demand from people wanting to visit Benezet Street or something. |
| Forum Reply | Now our season is over and obviously the slide has set in at 11:29 10 Mar 2024
As I was discussing with another member of this august forum yesterday, I shudder to think what this place would have been like if it had been around at the end of the 1980/81 season when the league form went pear shaped. "FFS!!!! JANKOVIC HAS SCORED AGAIN! WE'RE RUBBISH!" |

I mean, hopefully the belief that football only started in 1992 will help as well, otherwise they'll just say that it's the first time a team has got double figures since Fulham stuck 10 past us in 1963. We can't win! |

Of course the other extreme was at Barnsley in the Cup in 1990. Game finishes, 2-0 defeat, blizzard on an open terrace, kept in after the match, floodlights off within five minutes. We all stood there in darkness yelling "Oi! We are still here, you know!" |
| Forum Reply | The most embarrassing result in ITFC history. at 19:17 27 Jan 2024
As many others have rightly said, we'd be more annoyed if the Town team clearly couldn't be bothered and didn't put a shift in. I can think of numerous matches in the past where we've lost and it's obvious the team couldn't care less. Port Vale 0-5 Bolton 1-4 Norwich 1-5 Man Utd 0-9 Peterborough 1-7 Lincoln 0-1 Barrow 0-2 Liverpool 0-6 To name but a few Is this a bit embarrassing? Yep, but it's a freak result, and highlights our need for a striker or two. And I say that as someone who lives and works in Norwich, so we know what my Monday is going to be like. Gulp. Ever onwards. [Post edited 27 Jan 19:18]

Festive day trippers as well, I suspect. Was talking about this sort of thing with a friend, who, for their sins, is a season ticket holder at Carrow Road for many many years (Look, I live up here, I'm surrounded by them whether I like it or not!) He said that one Boxing Day they stuttered to a 0-0 against Spurs, and he was hearing several moans and groans around him in the Barclay along the lines of "We ain't got a hope with this lot! They're pathetic!" coming from people he hadn't seen at any point in the previous games. The thing is, this was Boxing Day 1992. You know, that season that gave them the chance to be participants the following one. I've just had a look at the Prem table at that point. They went into it FOUR points clear at the top. TL;DR It's nothing new, this sort of attitude, especially at this time of year. |

"Dear Ted Phillips, appreciate you died nearly six years ago, but fancy a run out against Stoke?" |
