| Forum Thread | ITFC Squad... at 13:34 25 Jul 2018
as far as I am aware, and utilising PH's preferred 4-1-4-1 formation, this is more or less the squad at present: GK: Bart, Gerks RB: Spence, Emmanuel, Cotter LB: Knudsen, Kenlock DC1: Chambers, Chalobah DC2: Woolfenden, (Knudsen, Spence) DM: Skuse, Downes CM1: Dozzell, Bish, Adeyemi, (Downes) CM2: Nydam, Huws (Waghorn, Ward) RW: Ward, Rowe (Sears) LW: Edwards, Roberts ST: Harrison, Waghorn, Garner, Sears We are obviously very light in central defence and unless a few of the central midfielders can get themselves match fit, PH may be forced to play some players out of position, or change his preferred formation. Even if PH secures some or all of his targets, how quickly will he be able to integrate them into his system of play, and will they have the required fitness levels to make it work? Also, the players we are looking at apparently, are not Championship experienced, so they will need to step up a level or two themselves. Good luck with that, Paul! Any thoughts? |

Why have you never had a bad word to say about ME? Have you only just started supporting Town? |

What is he worth? Whatever anyone is willing to pay. What do you think we will get? No idea. What would you sell for? £10m+ |

Not sure that any bit of a transfer is easy when ME is involved. If you continually look out for the bargain buy though, you may be missing real opportunities that maybe cost that bit more. |

If that is so, a consequence is that is if ME fails to get PH's targets in, PH is left to face the music himself (fans' and media negative reaction) or he can protect his position by stating indirectly that his employer failed to deliver. Correct? |

PH wants more players, but does not seem very confident of getting what he wants at the moment. Question is, how does recruitment work at Ipswich under ME? In particular, is PH given a budget for transfers and wages, and who is involved in negotiations? We can all guess, but does anyone know exactly? |
| Forum Reply | Time for a new badge? at 13:29 10 Jul 2018
Even if the majority of fans agreed to a new badge, who would pay for the changes to signage etc? Assuming the answer is Evans, who sticks as little as possible into the club, would you prefer his funding to go towards the player budget, or a new badge? |
| Forum Reply | Ben Knight clauses? at 13:27 30 Jun 2018
If the player wants away, professional or academy, the only strength you have is to create a quasi-auction. Would a tribunal set such clauses to recognise potential value or are they in r hands of the mighty Premier League elite and well up for short changing the small(er) clubs? |

| Forum Thread | Ben Knight clauses? at 13:01 30 Jun 2018
I appreciate that if the lad and his parents want him to go, all we can hope for is that the club get the best possible deal. The headlines will always concentrate on the main fee, but surely it is even more important to recognise the potential of the youngster with milestone payment clauses, international call-up, a significant sell-on and even a buy-back clause. Anyone know what we got wrt Charlie Brown and others, or what is currently on the table for Knight? |
| Forum Reply | Pleased that England play fairly....... at 09:10 19 Jun 2018
Interesting POV. I wanted to respectfully disagree, but thinking about it, I agree that teams like dirty Leeds profited years ago with their rule bending and thuggery, and West Germany won numerous penalties, not least of which the 1974 WC Final, with dives. Not to mention the "Hand of God" incident. You would have thought that with so many cameras inside stadia and assistance to refs these days that it should and could be kept to a minimum though, wouldn't you? I guess that there remains widespread acceptance of this within football circles, including the governing bodies. Will football (FIFA) ever really clean up its act? |

Pleased that England play fairly (as much as you can these days), but what do teams ever win when they do that? There were enough examples last night. One that stood out for me was the incident where Lingard hit the post. He jumped over the outstretched legs of their advancing keeper instead of allowing a bit of contact and going down for the penalty (like the cunning [sp] Ronaldo would have done). Also, we weren't in the face of the ref, as other teams would have been with some of the odd decisions he made, or that he chose not to make. |
