| News Comment | Keane Happy With Strike Options at 17:19:19
I think Healy and Murphy will be the two that he sticks with. And when players are given a run and still dont perform, people complain that run should be longer. Don't think this will cause us any problems this season, but I don't know what the plan is for when the loanee's leave. |
| News Comment | Stead Appeal Today at 14:11:19
Don't think they'll add a game, but I don't see it being overturned. The decision was harsh, but not the extent that it was utterly wrong. He was very late. Chin up. |

We've said time and time again that attracting quality players into this division is tough. As far as I'm concerned Keane can build an Irish 11, aslong as its a decent Irish 11. I don't care who they are, where they're from, as long as they're up to the job. |

If we played a 4-4-2 with.. -----Priskin---------Stead------ Martin-Quinn-Garvan-Walters We've got ALOT of pace in the wings and two big lads up front. We could effectively move into a 4-2-4 when we're on the attack and I think we'd look dangerous. Hoping Priskin will get 90 minutes tomorrow so we can see what he really can do. COYB. |
| News Comment | Rhodes On Target Again at 10:54:27
Okay maybe not 20 odd haha, but still.. Roy gave him a chance, he played a big part of his pre-season campaign and everything pointed to Keane being ready to include him in his plans for the season. He was willing to take 850,000 for him, which is reasonable, we've established that. It was Rhodes' decision to leave. Keane allowed him to discuss terms and he ultimately decided he would rather play for them. He could've had a chance in the championship with us and fought for a 1st team place, but he didn't. We can't throw our toys out of the pram because the boy wanted to move. |

People forget we were in a 'sell players to buy players' situation. RK recieved an offer that he seemed reasonable and allowed Rhodes to leave, which however unfortunate gave him the ability to bring in a proven goalscorer. Rhodes has made 20 odd championship appearances and scored once. It's all well and good scoring 30 goals in league 1, but we're not in league 1, and thats what matters. It may come back to bite us yes, or Rhodes could be destined to play lower league football for all his days. We won't know untill it happens, but there's no point dwelling over it. |
| News Comment | Keane: Draw Was the Right Result at 21:25:01
you can buy as many flashy strikers as you like, if the service and balls recieved arent up to scratch they arent going to score. |
| News Comment | Keane: Draw Was the Right Result at 21:03:12
I tried the optimism route and kept in mind our shakey defence, reaching a 4-2 prediction. Turns out I'm bad at this game. |
| News Comment | Rhodes On Target Again at 20:17:38
Because he was uproven in the championship and worth the money we got for him. Simple as. |
| News Comment | Keane: Draw Was the Right Result at 19:19:42
Agree with that, both neither sides looked particularly dangerous in a relatively dull game. It's a point though, and every one of those is worth having under our belt. Hopefully we'll see a good result on tuesday. |
| News Comment | A New Season, A New Reason To Sing at 08:45:11
It was dobbies point, not mine. And if they were moved to our corner of Cobbold stand then we wouldnt need any more of a barrier than we already have. They'd still be sat by the Cobbold stand fans as they are now, and would be seperated from North stand by the gap between the two. Only problem is if we see sides like Millwall or Leeds, because i dont want to be down there when it starts raining coins and golfballs. Also there are now ALOT of younger kids that sit with parents and grandparents upper north stand, and I dont know how they'd react to any 'heated' close up confrontations with away fans. Though really, if they want to shelter their children they should sit in Brittania. |
| News Comment | A New Season, A New Reason To Sing at 06:28:51
*wishes he was old enough to sit with the big boys :(* lol. Last years support (bar S6) was DIRE. Definately looking forward to having a good sing along today, although i think the fact we're a 'family club' with children sat more or less everywhere limits that in some areas of the ground. I know real support isn't all F's and C's, but nevertheless its frustrating not being able to go mad for fear of p*ssing someones daddy off. I think moving the away fans would be a great idea if im honest, but i dont know how the police and safety staff at the ground will feel about that one. |
| News Comment | Striking Options for Keane Ahead of Leicester at 17:29:29
I think Garvan wouldnt be a bad choice with the injury to Norris. Think we'll start how we have done with the 4-3-3, but would rather see priskin and stead together upfront without having to sacrifice a winger. I think Wickham will be shattered after 120 minutes on tuesday and i don't think he'll be brought on unless we need a change untill about 15-20 minutes from time. Hopefully a good turn out tomorow, lots of noise please! I don't want to watch football in the library that was portman road of seasons past. |
| News Comment | Keane Tight-Lipped on Keeper Murphy at 12:52:20
Wikipedia: On July 8th 2009 Zhi left Charlton after failing to agree a new contract with the London club following its relegation to third-tier Football League One. He is currently in the process of finding a new club. Zheng Zhi is known for his work ethic and ball control skills. He is a solid defender, capable organizer in the midfield, and also serves as a viable option as a striker. He is often regarded as the best Chinese footballer of his generation. His goal tally is a little off, but i think he's been playing all sorts of roles all over the pitch. He popped up a couple of times on the championship last season and i remember a very classy goal from him towards the end of the season. You dont get captain of a country with a population of 1.3 billion for nothing, and I'd be interested to see where he ends up. |
| News Comment | Keane Tight-Lipped on Keeper Murphy at 12:41:41
Thats the one.. I thought he'd be one of the first players to get snapped up when charlton went down, but haven't heard if he's gone anywhere? I know he wasn't match fit for alot of last season through injury. |
| News Comment | Keane Tight-Lipped on Keeper Murphy at 11:54:01
Anyone know what happened to the chinese international forward at charlton? He was'nt match fit last season but i thought he looked like a good buy if he left when they were relegated. Haven't seen Gomis or Deegan to comment, but I'd rather not see Murphy (D) sign after the feedback from sunderland fans which makes him potentially a big risk. |
