QPR Again Linked With Judge
at 23:40:15

If I've read this report correctly, Sheffield United had a bid of £4m turned down. Which means any release clause will be higher than that. QPR I think are time wasters, but if Sheffield Utd meet any release cause, no matter how happy Judge is with us, it could be his last chance at 30 to play in the Premier League. And to be honest, whilst I think it would be devastating for us if he left, who could really blame him? Whilst QPR is the headline, Sheffield Utd and Leeds are more of a worry for me.

Town and Pompey Linked With Motherwell Midfielder
at 22:58:12

Waghorn and Garner were not bad acquisitions from the Scottish league for little money. People on here need to be realistic. Few players will aspire to join a league 1 team, we are going to spend (next to) nothing as a transfer fee and I doubt our wage structure is even as much as Motherwell. This is probably all paper talk / us linked with anyone free and I agree that a CDM is probably not our most urgent position to strengthen. But jeez, people need a reality check on what we'll recruit this summer

Celtic Linked With £500,000-Rated Crowe
at 19:13:01

I agree with other posters here (particularly Ipswichbusiness). If this is true, he could be getting bad advice and is being short sighted. Sign a contract with us, force your way into the first team and command a bigger signing on fee / weekly wage. I know that anything can be around the corner, but surely any long-term contract with another club at the moment is not going to be as good as it could be. Being unable to ‘oust' what we saw of Spence from the RB position does suggest he's not ready. Realistically, loyalty is an ever reducing trait!

Town Confirm Holy Signing
at 19:50:09

I agree with others here. Should command the box on crosses and corners, which we've lacked for a few years. Hopefully our coaching will help him get to the same level of shot stopping as Bart and he needs to be vocal. People forget quickly what Bart has done for us in previous seasons. Yes, he did not have a good campaign this year. Maybe it is time for him to move with all our best - We would have been in a lot worst position than we are now a long time ago had he not been with us. But hopefully Holy is as good a replacement we can hope and he seems to have the potential to be. Good signing.

Lambert: We Have to Rise to Favourites Challenge
at 19:48:24

I'm absolutely more than happy to be challenged on this one, but if there was any of our ‘young guns' that had to go to raise funds, it would be Teddy for me. Nothing against the guy and think he's a decent footballer, but he seems a bit injury prone and whilst I haven't seen every one of his games by any stretch, I've always looked forward to seeing what he can do, only to leave feeling a bit disappointed. Do I have too higher expectations of the poor fella or a fair comment? Personally, I'm actually looking forward to next season.

Ipswich Town 1-2 West Bromwich Albion - Match Report
at 02:04:55

I do agree that we looked shaky at the back tonight and we're desperate for a proven goal scorer. Freddie, whose work rate is amazing, was probably 4th choice last year and now seems to be first forward on the team sheet. But, in fairness to the forwards, the first half just happened around our midfield. Nobody trying to get hold of the game and nothing for the front men to feed off until the subs came on, who went looking for the ball and made a difference. I'm not sure Chalobah was mom for me - did nothing in the first half, but a marked improvement in the second. As most have said, we need some good January dealing, but I'm with others on the worry of who we could attract. PH and team's miss-management have given P.L. an almost impossible job, but I've been really impressed with him so far and truly believe he can take us forward with some backing. Brilliant atmosphere tonight.

Leeds United 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 23:27:33

I agree with you ronnyblue. I've said before that I am no Evans fan, but Hurst has sacrificed our decent under 23 squad/young players for poorer lower league acquisitions. Our home grown players cost next to nothing and yet we are either loaning them out or not playing them in the first team. They surely cannot be worse than we are seeing. The lack of quality in our first team, coupled with no confidence and a manager who is just completely at a loss, leaves us in huge trouble in this league. While I agree a new manager will inherit one of the worst teams we've seen at Ipswich, they may be able to get them organised, hard to beat, some creativity, being in the youngsters, instil some confidence and at least have a game plan

Walters Out for Six Months

I'm no massive Evans fan, but I see people here moaning about the lack of investment, but at the same time, (rightly), also complaining the academy players are not getting a chance. Surely, if Evans was that tight, he'd be advocating the youth that costs us nothing more stay and play and not spending anything? Sometimes, a Manager has to protect a player like JW who wants to play. The fact that he (either with or without the physio's advice) couldn't see this, shows a lack of experience. Definitely a learn that could prove costly to JW as well as us. For me, as others have said, the summer releasing and recruitment policy is the issue and I really do hope things will start to click into place. It's not looking promising.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Brentford - Half-Time
at 22:03:27

The bottom line for me is that this is clearly relegation form. I'm sorry, but this getting in ‘hungry' lower league players isn't working. Don't get me wrong, I don't want mercenaries from the Premier League, but we haven't got the blend right, including the lack of our own academy players. Low on quality, low on leadership and low on an out and out finisher. I don't want to knock Hurst, but we need to wake up quickly as to what's needed to even stay in this division

Nouble Agrees New Deal
at 22:43:48

Personally, I don't see a half decent player. Not yet anyway. As others have said, can't win headers despite being a big fella, can't hold up the play and often has pretty poor touches and decision making. Certainly our fourth choice striker and to be honest, I'd like to see us get a more and dependable goal scorer in to complement McGoldrick and Tailor's potential. Having said that, he works hard, keeps his nose clean and deserves a fair opportunity to really see if he can cut it.

Town Confirm Chopra Exit
at 22:52:19

As with many people here, I am happy he has gone. Not because of his poor performances, awful scoring rate and under achievement, (I could forgive that), but because I genuinely believe he is a nasty piece of work. He clearly has issues and I do believe he needs support, but the way he is as a person just means that I have no sympathy at all. In terms of our forward line, Nouble's performance at Colchester worries me.

JET Linked With Swap Deal for Bristol City Winger
at 17:27:53

I'm with those who don't think Jet will move down. He can stay with us for a further year and pick up a higher salary and then I still think he would be able to secure a move to a league 1 club. Why take the drop in pay a year early?

First Day of Pre-Season Photos
at 20:39:04

Yes, some of the anti-Chopra comments are wearing thin - after all, he's clearly come back to pre-season training carrying some extra timber, he's paid more for 2 week's "work" than a lot of people earn in a year, we've bailed and stood by him thru his issues, he's embarrased the club a number of times and after sending him to America last year to sort him out pre-season, he did virtually nothing for us. So yes, c'mon people! At least no 30 goals claim this season!

Town Confirm Barnett Loan
at 17:46:21

The jury is out for me on this guy - ignoring his off field 'reported' issues his scoring rate at Peterborough doesn't seem great. We do need a proven goal scorer at this level and as people have said, hopefully will come in and earn a move to us in Jan. I also agree with giving Moshni a run in defence. Could he be worse than what we've got?

Town Confirm Ellington's Scunthorpe Move
at 21:12:55

Good luck Duke. Didn't really get a chance here and not sure why Jewell offered you a contract in the first place. To be fair, at least you didn't make any ridiculous claims you would score 30 goals a season - would be interesting to see what your strike rate would have been if you had as many games as Chopra.
