Phil do you know if anything in this? |

Yes get what you are saying completely. I just think experience wise doesn't have to be prem. Morsy is. Ot going to be phased by the premier league from a mentality point of view. Ditto Luongo, Burgess, Burns etc who have international experience as well. I think experience wise we are fine and need to concentrate more on ability wise i.e. you increase the ability level around your Morsy's and co. |

It's not though is it. Where do you draw the line on clear and obvious for an offside. You wouldn't get everyone agreeing on that and you would create even more duty and outrage. Offside is either on or off. Just needs properly automating and instant. As long as it is consistent, quick and well explained it will be fine. |

If wages aren't the issue can't see why we couldn't get some semi decent money for Ahadme. We must have paid a £250-300k for him and he's been brilliant this season. Someone in L1 would surely match that fee at least. |
| Forum Reply | Ahadme, Ladapo & Camara at 16:46 10 May 2024
I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Freddie is now on £25k a week. That would be a very poorly drafted contract because you would know he's never going to play for you in the prem. Surely it would be more bonus based. Ditto Ahadme and must be something about actually playing for us built in. |

Pretty sure that was never for offsides and this is a bandwagon that has been jumped on. The idea of not having it if not obvious with eye is utterly ludicrous. Why can't people get their head round the basic concept of camera angles on TV making this impossible. If camera is one side of player it will look onside and the other it will look offside. You have to have lines and you have to have a consistent method or not do it all. So that's the argument - do it or not. Think for one minute on your proposal. Immediately on MOTD after 3 decisions are shown to be wrong their would be the same old uproar "disgraceful'. To be honest this just need to be automated and instant which is coming. It will be more like Hawkeye and instant. They use VAR for far too much but offside will be sorted and fine soon. Like the goaline tech which works great. [Post edited 10 May 17:39]

I know I've talked about comings and goings on board before but always respectfully and making a point of how highly regarded they would be and thankful for what they have done for the football club etc. Also for the most part, again as I've stated, most that will leave will be good moves for them and that they would need and deserve to be playing week in and week out. This is a football forum and ins/outs will always form massive part of conversation. Your sentiment is right and I've zero issues where it is respectful. Most I've seen have been respectful but you will always get one or two who have no empathy and post disrespectful things. |

If we are serious about champions league this is the type of player we should be in for. |
| Forum Reply | Unpopular opinion: I wouldn’t have Sarmiento back next season at 20:03 8 May 2024
Wow everyone entitled to an opinion but that boy is going to get better and better. Would love him back. Another year with McKenna and I think he can develop into the real deal. What I love about him is his quality on the ball which is complimented by him being an absolute warrior off it. Rare. Think he has to develop his understanding of the game and the patterns and structure McKenna will want. He's like a quality street footballer who is getting better and better in real football. |

One or two max. Reason being I think we have quite an experienced squad to be honest. A couple of experienced prem players would help but we really need to be careful with our spend And not spending money that doesn't hold or increase its value. Fine balance to get right.id second Adam Webster though. |

I can't understand how it doesn't make a difference for FFP? I.e. if you are selling Lukaku whilst it's not a profit it still surely reduces the original outlay off the books for FFP. (Obviously factoring in how the deal is structured and amortization. But they can probably work it so it's booked off immediately). |

You can't start a post "no disrespect" and expect that to ok you being completely disrespectful. Of all the things you could use to illustrate a point this is really not ok. Remove or change your example. Let's not dig out someone who gave their all for the club and never let us down particularly. |
| Forum Reply | Can we now all agree that Saturday was the final nail at 10:32 8 May 2024
Pretty much summed up my feelings at the Cov game and then watching the game on TV Sat. Maybe when we missed a few big chances against Huddersfield a few worried thoughts but felt confident it was coming and come it did!! Just going to to try and enjoy next season whatever comes. I hope if things don't go completely as we hope next year we don't let it diminish what the staff and players have done. |

Agree. Almost guaranteed them being in the mix next year as they were getting better and better. |

We'll spend between £45-60 million I reckon. Feels really strange to write that given where we have been and how that to us seems staggering money. It is staggering money...but not for the prem. It's small money for the prem. We'll be careful with our spend in that it will be aimed mostly at players that can increase in value and are young enough not to have huge huge wages. Going to be really interesting. If we could even persuade Chelsea to sell it would be £15-20 million minimum for Hutchinson I would think. Sheaf would cost £15 million. Robins says more. |

Pretty sure I was on for this and then I did my Hladky meltdown post when I thought we might be chucking it in the bin. If it wasn't his own board maybe Phil himself for when he had too many ales at Christmas and started trolling us all. |
| Forum Reply | Give these boys a chance at 18:21 7 May 2024
Behave. 2-3 signings!? The sentiment of giving a lot of the squad an opportunity is good and the bulk will get a chance but we'll need a minimum of 6-7 incomings. If I was a betting man 8 first team signings. There is a group of players who need to play football and it's no good for their careers to be sat on bench or not making squads. They will go with the heads held high and as absolute heroes and to great moves. Likes of Harness, Jackson, Ball, one of the keepers. Aluko gone. Williams was in the 25. That's 6 to replace. I hope Edmundson stays as he can still get better at his age but might decide to go. Then all the loans who we either re-sign or need to replace. |

Burgess I reckon definitely a new 3 year contract. Tuanzebe possibly new 2 year contract with option. |
