Nerves wise how does this compare to last season?
at 23:39 3 May 2024

I personally don' think they are comparable. This is way way worse!

Last year we abosutley caked walked the divsion from February onwards! So once it was in our own hands it was a formality really. The Exeter game wasn't going to be anything else but had something happened we had a 2nd chance.

If we'd ended up in the playoffs that season i think we'd have breezed those too.

However this season is a one game scenario. Now whilst everything points to a win any thing can happen in a one off game and Huddersfield could be anything now they are basically down, there is a bit of unknown with sides that have nothing to play for which is my fear.

There is no 2nd chance, it's straight to the play offs which would contain our rivals who unfortuntely we have a shocking recent record against and a team with a premier league squad albeit we've beaten them twice this season.

This is far far nervier! + the prize iis that much bigger!

I hate that basically all the media thinks we've done it. It worries me.

I'm sure we'll do it tomorrow but I hate that it's basically been considered as done.

Raise a glass to Paul Cook
at 15:27 3 May 2024

Couldn't give toss to be honest.

I'm glad those players you list are here and I love them but Mckenna wouldn have brought in as good if not better players had he been around at that time. Mckenna has hardly signed a dud has he, Cook signed plenty.

Paul Cook was a useless manager for us, and i won't be raising anything to him. I wish him well in his career elsewhere but he now has nothing to do with ITFC and was just another abject failire called Paul.

Anyone else at the League Cup semi-final at St Andrew's?
at 23:53 2 May 2024

I lived in Reading at the time.

I helped a disabed fan out of the ground because no one at St Andrews gave a toss and the stewards were probably also dealing with the carnage inflicted on our fans. It meant I missed the last train i could get home on and i ended up sleeping in Birmgham New Street station until the first train in the morning. As a poor student there was no way i was paying for a hotel.

I miss the atmopshere of nights like that in away grounds but of course don't condone the coin throwing and and thuggery. But it was an incredible atmosphere and when we got the goal to take it to ET it was incredible. Wright then got fecked over by a pitch they'd used flame throwers on!! I mean WTF

Yep I was at that game as 20 year old. Everything you say was true, was a hostile night and a gutting defeat.

Look back now though with a little bit of fondness. Football has got a bit sterile now. Don’t get many atmospheres like that in English football anymore.

Hypothetical Ticket Sale
at 10:00 2 May 2024

Indeed. Being at the Exeter game last season along with the play-off final in 2000 are two days that will never leave my memory, they still make my hairs stand on end when i close my eyes and recall the feeling of being there.

I think I'm risking divorce by going on Saturday! As I write saturday's off by travelling from West London for every home game we basically have agreement we'll go away together for bank holiday weekends and had something provisionally booked. I foolishly didn't realise this game was a bank holiday weekend until a few weeks ago and now she's not happy but I've said come 12:30 Saturday i'll be at Portman Road, it's basically non-negotiable.

Players I’ve been impressed with that we may or may not look at.
at 18:05 1 May 2024

Sara not for me. Nothing to do with Norwich connection before anyone suggests that. He has ability and clearly does some good things however without the ball he can be a liability . Maybe McKenna could coach that into him but he’s not a McKenna type of player currently.

Be quite happy if we signed any of the others listed.

Town in Five Hull

Think they’ve only released the town in 5 added time (which is the longer Town TV subscriber version) for the last 3 games.

Huddersfield manager about to quit?
at 18:57 30 Apr 2024

I don't think so. They'd be a bit of a mess tactically probably but many of the players may be playing for a contract knowing a new manager potentially watching on so doubt they're just going to down tools.

On the positive side

Agree they are a real threat.

I think tonight is the game to look at as avoiding defeat and win on Saturday with a home crowd behind us

Of course we should go for the win tonight and hopefully we put away the chances we do create and make no mistakes at the back to gift them anything, but I can't see us taking undue risks and it being quite as open and dynamic as the Hull game.

Coventry unfortunately do carry a serious goal threat and this is the danger. Lose tonight would be disasterous, i can't see Leeds gifting up another opportunity. It would be a massive shot in the arm for them if it ends up back in their hands.

we need to win tonight before we can just say we need to avoid bing beaten.

Tonight isn;t going to be easy. I'd rather win but if someone said win your last game at home v Huddersfield to go up you'd take it meaning a draw is a good result tonight...its just a win would be superb and mean a draw is enough Saturday.

I can't see us taking undue risks if it's 1-1 with 15 mins to go tonight as taking a risk that en'ds up with them getting a winner on the break would be disastrous.

I'm certain Leeds will win saturday. They'll need a reaction, especially if they think thye are going to be in the playoffs.

People do realise
at 22:53 27 Apr 2024

yes ovioulsy but why will leeds lose to southampton? They may do but they may not and that means to contol our destiny we need 4 from 6. Very doable but alos quite a challnge when having taken 3 points from 12.

We're all going to have to make some selfless sacrifices to get this country
at 14:20 25 Apr 2024

I've always thought this regarding having more tax bands.

To increase tax or not increase is always such a big political point and fundamental to any party mainfesto.

But why are taxation levels always mentioned rather than the tax bands. The massive jump between standard and higher rates doesn't make much sense to me. It would bring in more revenue and be a better scale of afordability to all.

I guess because its something that would never get voted in...

A blessing in disguise?

Football isn't for you. I've said this a few times but this dumb post really reinforces it. I sincerely hope no member of our playing squad reads it.

How can any side be Premiershsip ready (that is a recently relegated parachute club). Just think about it?

But perhaps actually find something else to do on a Saturday.

Win at Hull and suddenly things will swing back in our favour
at 15:56 23 Apr 2024

Spot on...but Hull is a natsy game to have. I feel if QPR can gte something from Leeds it will help. I see 7 points, would be galling to miss out on GD.

you'd be wrong then.

Quite a few tickets from the last 3 games have been sold via the resale platform. Not huge numbers but then the number of season ticket holders giving up their ticket won't be huge at the moment either.

The staff member i spoke to said ticket office are quite happy with how its worked. I have used it for one game i couldn't make and it was so easy to do. My ticket sold almost immediately.

Do we want a Southampton win tomorrow now then?
at 12:11 23 Apr 2024

No, because a draw puts Leicester 3 points ahead of us which is not good because of their GD. It means they have to drop points in both the last two games which is unlikely.

A draw is not a good result, we need southampton to win i think, people are too concerned with Southampton.

Sotuthampton and Leeds can't both win on the last day
