In case anyone fancies it my friend runs a very good league, last year I finished third and won £150, whilst my Dad scooped £25 for manager of the month. Info can be found below: Dear Fantasy Players, We return! I have good news, the new season has returned so it’s time to launch the Best League Ever 2019/20! We had 114 players enter the league last season, and this year we want to get bigger and better. Entry and referrals Entry remains at £15, and players will be rewarded £5 for their referrals, a referral simply counts as someone that didn’t play in the league last year, referred by you. If you have a referral, please still send me £15 for your own entry (don’t send me £10), and I will refund you £5 once your referral has entered the league — Make sure your referral tells me they have come through you. New Changes This year we will see a change in distribution for the cash prizes, with the overall top 10 players being payed out (last year it was 5). Finishing in the top 10 of a league over 100 people is tough going, so I believe this is the right thing to do. A second change I am implementing is on referrals. Last year we ran a referral competition where the person who referred the most players played for free, but this year I am scrapping that, any play that finds 4 referrals play for free! Do you know 4 people that will want to join? If you do, I will refund you your whole £15 entry, simple as that. The Adam Rubach Cup The Adam Rubach Cup replaces the Eddy Grainge Cup of last season, when this will commence is TBC at this stage until we know final numbers. Cash Prizes Cash prizes will be distributed this year for the top 10 players in the overall rankings, for each manager of the month winner, and for the winner and runner up of the Adam Rubach Cup. As soon as the deadline passes and final numbers have been counted, I will then be able to announce exactly how every cash prize will be allocated. Can we beat last years prize pot which was over £1300? How to pay Please send your £15 entry fee to Luke de Pledge, Account Number 12117978, Sort Code 60-10-33. Please make sure you put your name as the reference when sending the money — I have no idea who you are otherwise and it makes life very difficult! Once you have sent me the money, email me, and I will send you the code to join the league. That’s it for now That’s it for now, I would love to get numbers over 114 and cannot do that without your help — Get yourself £5 back, or find 4 people and you play for free! Thank you, Luke |

Crucially.... “This year, with relegation costing the Club up to £9 million, any income from player sales/sell-ons has been swallowed up by the financial gap caused by the drop into League One. That said we do have funds available for a further two or three new players the manager and I would like to secure before the end of the window, to bring that bit extra to the squad and I hope that those we are targeting can be secured on terms that work for Ipswich. I also want to ensure that, going forwards, we have funds to strengthen in January if we see gaps or injuries appear in the first half of the season.” As always, I think he has articulated himself well and once again I’m sure this will endear him to fans and hopefully erase the need for people to sing what they sang at Burton. Obviously there is an element of spin in some of what he says but I truly believe he has the clubs best long term interest at the forefront of all of his decision making. A highly successful model in the US, although it’s a very different market over there. Hope that this is successful, however Bleacher Report and Twitter provides access to many of the journalists fans are keen to hear from, both local and national. |
| Forum Reply | Rowe MOTM today, Downes and Woolfenden really good too at 19:37 3 Aug 2019
Agree with a lot of what you’ve said above. Brief player rating from me whilst I’m sat on the train back to London. Holy 6- assured when claiming deliveries, untroubled with saves, distribution good, almost cost us with an almighty error late on when we were otherwise comfortable. Donacien- 4- not sure how he is a footballer, turns slowly, awful first half, terrible in possession. Got better second half though. Wolfenden- 8.5 excellent. Cool, calm, collected, looked like an experienced CB. Wilson- 6- not commanding enough, but no major errors apart from switching off once, not good enough for a higher level than this and possibly against better strikers at this level. Kenlock - 6 not good enough at times. Too inconsistent, was often harshly adjudged to have fouled players though in the first half, but regardless not good enough and careless in possession second half. Rowe 8 - up there with Downes and Wolfenden. Real threat, lively and could have scored in the first half. Downes - 9 - bossed the game, particularly when we matched them up with a 3 in the middle, but even before then looked class. Skuse - 8 didn’t really notice him much but he was often on hand and nobody ever got past him, had two yards in his head relative to some on their team. Garbutt- 7 - Neat and tidy, some good link up, could be more assertive at times but almost got an excellent assist for Norwood as well as his goal. Jackson- 7- good movement, didn’t utilise him that well but worked hard and put himself about. Norwood - 8 real handful, puts himself about, will get sent off at least once I imagine. Lively though and some nice touches, I imagine him linking up with Judge to excellent effect in future games, should score 20 this year. Looked shattered in the last 10. |
| Forum Thread | My last town game.... at 11:48 8 Apr 2018
I think yesterday was the last time I’ll watch Town. I genuinely love the club and have done since my first game in 1989, after travelling to last weeks non event at Birmingham I was excited about the prospect of yesterday’s game and although I felt it would be tough game I woke up very much looking forward to the occasion. However, after politely suggesting that people stopped signing anti Mick songs ( a: because he’s already going and b: it was hardly going to galvanise the players ), I was subjected to a series of abuse that lasted almost the whole first half and well into the second. Not only as I physically threatened, I had to witness a good friend be shoved about, whilst also being warned about my safety post match where I was assured something bad would happen. Now whilst I love the Town, I really can’t see myself going to a game again. The prospect of being associated with the supporters I encountered yesterday and enjoying the same moments of celebration as them no longer appeals to me. |

Are any town fans driving to the game from London on Sunday morning. I’m out Saturday night so it’s best that I don’t drive, but the trains look horrific. Happy to contribute petrol money, only need a lift there not back as I’ll stay in Suffolk for a few days of half term. I’ll even bring snacks. Please let me know if any one can help out. Thanks |

Asides from Nydam playing well and proving what I've said about him previously.... Was seeing a Town fan in his car on the North Circular near Bounds Green, duely followed him to the next set of lights before winding down the window to exchange Town based pleasantries. Felt great seeing a fellow blue out of context. Wondering if it the driver was anyone on here? Black Fiat Punto 57 plate.... [Post edited 23 Sep 2017 20:57]

Zagreb or Berlin would be my recommendation. |

Callum Connolly on loan from Everton Not sure what this says about Iorfa, Kenlock etc My guess is that Mick likes Knudsen at LCB but doesn't fancy Kenlock at LB and this lad has come in for cover/gametime in that area. I'm only saying this because he wore number 3 for U20's and looks like he can play both sides. [Post edited 31 Aug 2017 22:06]

Must be lad from Brighton.... |

Terminating Bru's contract, selling Bart, loaning out Hyam.... As much as I appreciate the need for him to whet the appetite and the fact he possibly also needs to hold back at the clubs request, some more insight would be lovely. Another Prem loanee is my guess |

We don't need a midfielder!!! Rant over We probably need two centre halves, depending on whether Knudsen is now viewed as a LCB or not |
| Forum Reply | Can't believe we are not in for another central midfielder at 14:23 31 Aug 2017
I think going for another midfielder is a short sighted approach. Downes is better than Hyam, Nydam is quality and will be fine in a three. Ward is a CM in a 3 and Skuse will partner Tom A when fully fit. Therefore getting someone in would impact upon the careers of the above plus Dozzell, Bishop and Huws. |
| Forum Reply | He was crap.... at 20:45 30 Aug 2017
I'm not saying I rate him, in fact I always thought he was a defensive liability who didn't have many desireable attributes, but ( in part due to nepotism ) he has forged a good career for himself and having played at this level and above might be a decent squad player for us. I'd much prefer the lad from Brighton, although I can't say I've seen him play more than twice, but he seems well thought of and a great age too. |
