Oxford Game Set to Go Ahead
at 11:06:54

No frost here, a little bit misty. Pretty cold though but not enough to put you off playing when you're on a fair few thousand pound a week!

Town Agree Fee for Posh Winger Edwards
at 11:18:33

I rarely post on here but i can't see any negatives to signing Edwards.

We have been served up absolutely dire performances for years under Mick. I remember watching us away at Blackburn a few seasons ago when we went down 2-0 to an inevitable Rhodes brace. We set up defensively and showed no fight whatsoever. This has happened constantly throughout Micks reign. The majority wanted him out, me included and we now have to trust in Hurst.

If he solves the injury mess we've had at the club for years alone it would be a huge boost. Imagine having Huws, Adayemi and Bishop playing regular football for us again, that alone would inject some much needed quality in midfield.

Webster was injury prone throughout his spell with us, we received a good fee given what we spent on him and if for instance we replace him with Tilt, it would then look to be a great piece of business.

We've struggled with having no width for years, Hurst is looking to address this and he's bringing in players he's seen from the lower leagues so we have to trust his judgement. To add to this, they're players we would own rather than constant loans.

I've no problems with loans but with the likes of Celina but he was a winger and we didn't play with width under Mick, this meant he was wasted. I think under Hursts prospective formation, Celina would excel.

I have loved McGoldrick for years. My fiancee could never see it when we went to games and i had to constantly tell her "how good he was on his day". He was though forever injured and i can see why he's been let go alongside the wages it's freed up. Hyam the same albeit less of a wage drain than McGoldrick.

We do need to keep Bart and Waghorn though as they're the two genuine players of quality in our starting eleven. I would be gutted to see either leave.

My overall point though is that we need to trust in Hurst and not question his judgement on matters. He has time left in the window and i fully believe he will land enough targets to get us competitive come the first match against Blackburn.

I for one am very much looking forward to the new season, far more than i have for years.

Barnsley 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 19:54:41

I rarely post here but visit everyday about 5 times as my partner will tell you!

I've been to many matches over the last few seasons that have been utter dross! My main issue has been Mick putting round pegs in square holes. I appreciate he's had limited resources in recent season but when the players he has got have been played out of position then that's where my frustrations have lied.

I've watched poor Chambo trying his best at right back but being skinned game after game as he's not a right back. Douglas, well was Douglas. His persistence playing Gerken over Bialkowsli for a spell when we all knew Gerken was easily our number 2.

But this season it's like something has finally hit and Mick has realised at last to get his finger out and listen to the fans! Chambo looks very good now he's in a back three and looks far more comfortable. Garner is what we've missed since Murphy went and is a focal point. Downes is just one hell of a find! So composed for his age and really puts himself about. Skuse has looked immense this season but he's been able to just concentrate on what he does best, the simple stuff due to what he has around him.

Iorfa is so raw despite the games he's already played in his career but him and Spence link up well down the right. Bialkowski is nothing short of a rock at the back. I've been following us since about the 93/94 season and for me he's the best keeper we've had. The save when Mowatt went through 1 on 1 with him kept us in it yesterday and is typical of how important he is at the back.

The first half yesterday was terrible and i thought here we go again after being very encouraged by watching us against Birmingham but.... Mick changed things beyond belief at half time which i've never seen him do before! To go 4-2-4 was daring but paid off big time. Waghorn looked a good addition and your just left praying for McGoldrick to stay fit for a season as he's that extra class we need upfront.

I've been Micks biggest hater over the last few seasons but credit where it's due, he's really starting to win me over after his business in pre season and how we've started in the first 3 games.

Very early days but it's the most optimistic i've been since probably the promotion season! The memories of being there and seeing Stewarts debut at Barnsley are starting to come back!

McCarthy Hopeful on Early January Addition

Re: Dear Gavin, You still have time to buy a ticket for this Friday's match against BRISTOL CITY at Portman Road.

So I rarely post on here but I got the usual "do you want to buy tickets e-mail" and funnily enough no I don't due to the club completely ignoring the fans wishes! I think my following reply covers all aspects of why:

I will if you can promise me Mick still won't be in charge for the game.

He continues to play Chambers at right back for some reason only he knows, subsequently we get attacked down the left in every single game to the point I feel sorry for Luke as it's not his fault and he actually cares about the club.

Douglas? I can't even waste time commenting on him.

Sears is not a left winger!!!!! He played two consecutive games as a striker recently and scored in both so what did Mick do? Back to left wing of course and has he scored again.....

So Mick out. Emmanuel at right back (who's actually a right back). Douglas making Bovril in one of the bars for fans and Sears where he's effective upfront and I'll be purchasing tickets yes thankyou!

Jewell Won't Quit as Redknapp Speculation Grows
at 12:19:38

I'm not quite understanding why.......this idiot is still at our club!!!!! Get some self respect and leave, hanging on for a payoff shows how much you respect the club and fans. To make matters worse we have the likes of JET aka J Ego Tastic having the nerve to spout off back to the fans whilst playing to the level of a Blue Square Premier standard player and showing no interest on the pitch.

Very sad times for the fans of our proud club who are losing their identity and affinity with the club. Please Marcus as a fellow fan make us proud to shout COYB again!

Blues Linked With Swiss Keeper

I agree COYB, he looks like he's an organiser at the back which with a young defence ie Smith and Cresswell then that's what we need. Also looks quite solid from the clip posted above.

Chambers Returns to Nottingham
at 08:39:36

Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clegg I really really can't stand you you absolute waste of space! What is it you do that's so repulsive once you get the player into a room at Portman Road to completely ruin every transfer? Do you just have bad hygiene or is it something more complex???

Evans will you please rid us of the torch carrying, Guam loving buffoon and put somebody in who can actually bring players to the club please before we face yet another season of obscurity!!!

Clegg Takes Olympics Role With Guam
at 14:36:45

Great work Clegg bang in the middle of the summer whilst deals are meant to be negotiated. Who may i ask is now in charge of seeing transfers through?

I honestly sometimes feel like he comes on here and reads all this and thinks to himself "How can i do something to surpass myself again and annoy all the Town fans even more". Ah i know i'll bugger off to the Olympics and help bloody Guam out that'll annoy them!!!!

I feel for Guam aswell as if his past records are anything to go by he'll no doubt hold out for cheaper flights for them and then miss out at the last second no doubt to Leicester or Leeds who'll buy the flights up just to prove yet again they can gazump Clegg!

I'd rather have Clegg off Last of The Summer Wine in charge tbh!

Rant over for a few months till i make another rare post on here.

Jewell: Centre-Half a January Priority
at 12:30:40

This is only my second ever post on here but I'm as fed up as the rest of you!!

I'm sick to death of hearing the same old garbage about us needing defenders, in particular CB's. We are all aware of this so go and do something about it instead of talking about it for crying out loud!!!

I've had a quick scan of four Premier League clubs and have come accross various fringe players who need game time.

Matthew Briggs at Fulham has played in all 10 Europa League games but domestic wise has only started one Carling Cup game and one Premier League game, based on this with Fulham now out of Europe he seems on the periphery at Fulham so Jewell make and enquiry!!!!

Arsenal have both Ignasi Miquel and more importantly with RB in mind Carl Jenkinson both not featuring and both would be ideal. London aswell is commutable to Ipswich so counters the rubbish point about us not being great positionally for potentional new players!!!

Chelsea have two RB's in Ryan Bertrand and Paulo Ferreira both sat there playing next to no football and both would be ideal.

Liverpool are brimming with young players who aren't getting first team exposure! Coates, Coady, Flanagan, Robinson and Wisdom. All it takes is a phone call to Liverpool to ask if any are available to loan, surely at least one or two would be!!! They also have Raheem Sterling and Dani Pacheco both of whom are extremely talented and would surely gain from some first team footy we could provide.

I've only looked at four Prem clubs there and have provided plenty of names, Jewell dont tell me there's nobody out there because I'm not buying it!!!!!!

Hull Make Treacy Enquiry
at 10:38:17

Why on earth are we dragging out yet another proposed deal!! If were genuinly interested then make a bid! We seem to dither around and by the time we decide to make a bid other clubs start getting involved.

We can all see St Ledger is a player we desperatly need aswell so make a double bid on him and Treacy and see how far out the valuations are and take it from there as with Sharp and Coppinger.
