| News Comment | CEO Ashton Starts Town Job at 09:47:40
From the story - "A former youth goalkeeper with West Brom, Ashton was on the Baggies' board from 1990 to 2014. In June 2004 he was appointed chief executive of Watford and he spent four and a half years with the Hornets before a four-month spell at Wycombe Wanderers in the same role in 2009." Can he serve on the board of one club while CEO at another? |
| News Comment | Judge: Welfare of My Family is Number One at 07:19:07
Having recently been through a year long battle to protect my little girl from a harmful situation, it consumes your life. It does affect your work severely as the mental strain is far harder than the physical strain. Add in travelling, especially in London, and I can totally appreciate where he is coming from. Keeping that a secret to protect your family is another pressure on its own. Let's hope we see his form now return, although there could be more ups and downs on this road his family is on. Please give him the time to deal with it as a human when there are. |

Reading this site recently. Players should him. Lambert no clue and clutching at straws. Evans out. Do people actually want to support anything at this club any more? I genuinely hope we get out of this mess, although not confident we vs yet, But lol forward to being pleasantly surprised by May. |

I have no words any move for how frustrated with the whole club. Players out of their depth and some seeming totally inept or disinterested at any level. No investment of any serious intent. Do not turn on Paul Lambert who has made progress and without the ability to replace said players in the team yet, has his hands tied with the crap we have. A large blame on the owner. But as we wished for a change in manage and got screwed over, anyone fear the owner would screw is over even more in leaving? |
| News Comment | Lambert: As Good a First Half as I've Seen at 10:15:05
Without changes to personnel, we are playing well. Scoring goals. Creating chance. And appear to have self belief and confidence back. Let's now rid the mistakes at the back and we will go on a run. Sears is also scoring and looking better for it. So let's turn the support up further, get behind our team and at least we are now making a fight of it. |
| News Comment | Updated: Lambert Pays Respects at Leicester at 12:32:48
Such a tragic event, not just for the club there but football as a whole. This shows the level of respect some of the owners of clubs have earned. The stories of his interactions with fans and public around the club are good to hear in this modern world where some owners probably never see the fans outside of the stands. |
| News Comment | Hurst: It Was Always Going to Be Tough Against Leeds at 23:27:06
For me, this is the talk of a manager doubting his team, himself and his club. For me, his time ran out before Swansea and even that result, albeit a great result, has proven nothing to change my mind. I want Mick out and I had high hopes with Paul Hurst. But I am not holding much hope we can avoid the drop if this continues much longer. But equally who can turn it around for us? First step is someone who d's. See when a system is not working and play two up front. |
| News Comment | Hurst: Walters Injury One of Those Things at 17:07:47
Souperjim - If he is a free agent, then surely there is not a big money deal on the table? I'm guessing at this stage he is going to have to take what is offered? But I do agree, now is the time to try some of the youngsters, maybe off the bench as impact players? |
| News Comment | Walters Out for Six Months at 18:08:43
It is very hard to not look negatively at anything around the club at the moment - results, the players, the manager, injuries - except the younger players and teams. We do need to get behind the team, but the manager will always have to face the full on fury of the fans, and it is not an easy decision to decide when it is time to pull the plug. Yes, the player has a big say in if fit or not to play, but we don't know what the sports science was telling the physio/manager, so hard to lay blame anywhere really. Equally, can we keep blaming our bad luck for everything. I do believe there will have to be a change soon - one or two more games at most - not just for surviving in the Championship, but to stop the toxicity growing in the fans yet again. But equally, who do we bring in to fix it? I see calls for Burley - but will we all be disappointed if a return to the past does not work out? It's been a few years since his time in management. As much as I want all of these options we try - stick with Hurst, bring in Burley, etc. - I am glad I am not the one making the decisions!! You will be hated either way. |

What determines the profit a club makes on a transfer? Is it purely what they paid originally? or does it cover agent costs, clubs costs, salaries, etc? |
