@Midastouch
Sorry to hear of the loss of your dear and close friend Gav at such a young age.

A few of the players didn't show up today. best to leave it at that. Big thumps up to Coventry who did us a favour.

Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:35:41

For me there were 2 things that went wrong in yesterdays game: -
1. Cardiff never scored from either of their 2 early chances. None of us like to see town give away early goals, but, we all know the result and outcome, it spurs the guys on to take the game to another level from which the opponents struggle and there's mostly only one outcome.

2. I would have left Moore on for the last 10mins. however, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

A big thumbs up to the guy in the crowd who lead the entertainment during treatment of Moore's injury.

Lovely couple of days out even if the result was not what we all wanted. Never mind onwards and upwards. COYB

Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report
at 12:15:09

@TonyHumesIpswich your response to @londontractorboy sums up yesterday's performance perfectly.

For a club that could do no wrong over the last 18monts, I'm bemused, we've known from the moment we all witnessed George Hirst limping off, that we would need to line up a replacement for at least the remainder of the season if not beyond, and here we are with with less than a week before the window shuts we find ourselves with not one championship/premiership proven striker in the camp, and by all accounts it would appear we don't have one in our sights. If we did, after yesterdays performance their selling club has increased their assets value somewhat. The time for "No comment" when the question of a striker is raised, has run its course.

Having said that the big positive from our action in this window, should be complemented with yesterdays MoM JS what an addition he has proved to be in the few appearance's since he arrived. Pitty its not a permanent rather than a loan deal.

The ones who I feel sorry for the most are the youngsters, many of whom it will have been their first time at PR.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but, it was impossible not to notice the number of youngster at todays game and their excitement at just being at the ground.

Congratulations to Maidstone and your supporters, enjoy your day and good luck in the next round.

I won't bother the mention those in blue and white who never turned up today, they will know who they are. Totally embarrassing from a top two championship team.

Like so many I've been checking the site almost by the hour since the window opened expecting to see what 2 strikers we've signed. What today has shown is, the club cant wait another 48 hours for those 2 signings to materialise. The club could do a lot worse than (although they've probably left it a bit late) then release 2 or 3 fringe players to free up wages if that is proving to be the problem.

I should add. who honestly after the first 10 minutes against Sunderland on 6th August would have thought we'd find ourselves sitting 2nd in the Championship come the turn of the year.

McKenna: A Difficult Build-Up and Not a Great Game
at 16:23:11

There is a lot of negativity around last nights game. Okay, we didn't win, but on the other hand we didn't loose, 1 point is better than none, and who knows that 1 point might just be what we need come the 4th May. Try focusing on the positives, Gerrard Buabo looked an handful for the few minutes he had and showed us what a player he will be once injuries are sorted, Cam Humphreys, once he got settled in and especially second half showed what potential he has, again Marcus Harness gave 100% (shame about the yellow) think that's why Kmk took him off. All in all with virtually half the 1st 11 missing, a fair result. Happy New Year to all.

Thought I'd let the dust settle and leave it 24hours after the game before posting, however, Mariner1974 and barrystedmunds you have both summarised the game perfectly. Thanks both.

On another unconnected point. It was a shame to hear about the minor fracas outside the ground involving the car carrying the NCFC joint shareholders Delia Smith, Michael Wynn Jones, and a handful of people. Regardless of the rivalry between both sets of supporters, this is not the expected behaviour towards 2 OAP's . I'm sure the club once they've reviewed what actually happened, will, if they haven't yet done so make the necessary apologies to those concerned, and take the appropriate action against any of those involved who are found out to be supporters of ITFC. From what I have seen it appears the Police didn't cover themselves in any glory.

Blue Action to Stage Derby Coach Welcome
at 13:42:50

I'm with @Regency Blue on this one.

Would it not be better to save this event until after the game, as a celebration and recognition of a fantastic club and its supporters.

I don't think the players will need any further encouragement, and as a man will be up for the challenge.

We all know too well that current form goes out the window when it comes to derby games, my concern is (and as much as none of us want it) we could actually loose the game. Can you image what the media (especially Look East and EDT) will do, ITFC supporters and the club would be a laughing stock, we'd end up on TV screens across the nation for days and days after the match.

Could this not also be conceived as putting unwanted pressure on KMc and the guys before what is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season.

I suppose at the end of the day if you want to support this event that's up to each individual and anything anyone else says is immaterial. I myself will be shouting my support for the guys will be from within the ground as is always the case.

Out thought and out played in almost every position tonight, against a very very well organised WBA team. The important lessons for the guys is to take on board the comments made by KmK in his post match interview. Magnanimous in defeat, what a guy.

Best not to dwell to much on tonight's game, its over, let move onto Millwall, I'm sure the guys will be back to their best at PR.

Town Looking For New West Stand Sponsors as Magnus Group Enters Administration
at 23:56:52

The haulagelogistics sector has operated on extremely small margins for decades. Unfortunately the Magnus Group are a victim of these small margins, with massive overheads and operating cost, it doesn't take much to tip a company over the edge.

Terrible terrible news for the owners, staff and their families, especially so close to Christmas. Lets hope the administrators are successful in finding a new owner, probably one of the big boys.

I think a few less changes from last Saturdays game and we could have drawn if not won the game.

I suppose these cup games are probably the best way for KMcK to truly assess some of the fringe players in real game time scenarios.

What the game did show was the limitations of a few of the players is differently league one, not championships and certainly not premiership. A couple of positive's were Axle and Baggott.

The result was as much as I suspected. Bit disappointed with some of the individual performances, even though none of them have got that many minutes under their belts particularly against that level of oppositions.

The biggest positive for me was Elkan Baggott, don't think it'll be that long before he's a regular on the bench, used as an impact player.
