Consider the state of that Town side. You are asking a 19 year old kid in his first loan in men's football to stop the Titanic from sinking? Have a bit of perspective. How do you think he would do in our current midfield alongside, Morsy? He'd be terrific, especially with his willingness to get forward and make a pass. Let's not forget that team went down with a whimper, he didn't get too much help during that campaign. [Post edited 3 May 13:51]

If you have anything about you, you could appreciate even then that he was a decent player, even in a poor Town side. The fact it was his first loan spell in men's football and he was our best player tells you a lot about him. I'm pleased he's gone on and done so well with his Chelsea career. There's no grey area with some on here, once they've made their mind up, that's it. Embarrassing really, give the lad some credit. |

There was no doubt that was a terrific stop in the first half, sprung like gymnast doing a floor routine across his goal, however I think he'll be disappointed with their goal. |

Is this not a similar scenario to when we were last in the EPL and we redeveloped the Bobby Robson and Sir Alf stands? I'm always a glass half empty type of guy, it is going to require a lot of investment simply to stay in that league as clubs have shown recently, overstretching ourselves financially is a big concern I have. This idea of the EPL being the promised land couldn't be further from the truth and that's the sad reality the club will need to weigh up. What will be our aim? |

That’s true, but they are a different beast at home and look how Southampton have been over the last couple of games. We need to be in front of Leeds heading into that last game. |

Yep, we just can’t afford to lose tonight. I really can’t see Leeds slipping up against Southampton, especially at home. |

Nope. Defensively, we’ll get severely exposed. I suppose it all depends on what our approach is if we get promoted. A few shrewd signings and make do or a squad overhaul which will cost millions. Let’s get promoted first and then worry about that. |

Nature of the beast. There’s little doubt Hladky has come in and played out of his skin this season. I still feel Walton is the better keeper, especially with how he deals with the high ball and crosses. However, Hladky has certainly been a revelation, I just didn’t believe he had that level of performance and credit to him. |
| Forum Reply | I know we score a lot from playing it out from the back but can’t we at 09:28 28 Apr 2024
It was a ridiculous pass. Hladky can see all that is in front of him and choose to play the ball to the one Town player who had someone breathing down their neck. Regardless how we play, not even Manchester City who are the best at this brand of football don’t always play it short, Ederson will vary it. Yes, Morsy could’ve done better, but Hladky was at fault for making the decision to pass it to him, there were better options available. [Post edited 28 Apr 9:30]

Credit to both teams to keep going to the final whistle. |
