Charlton Tickets Sell Out in Minutes
Friday, 7th Oct 2022 10:34

Town’s 3,000 ticket allocation for the trip to Charlton Athletic on Saturday 29th October sold out within six minutes of going on sale to season ticket holders this morning.

The visit to the Valley is the Blues’ second closest away game of the season and always draws a big Town following.

Will Charlton release more tickets? They are only getting about 13,000 in a 27,000 stadium capacity right now & I believe they have released tickets in the West Stand to visitors before.

There's a ton of Ipswich fans living in London, too. I imagine we could buy many thousands more if they were made available.

I live in North Woolwich so Charlton is technically now my local team. So disappointed I'm unable to get a ticket:(

Six minutes is a touch disappointing.

@Kentish_Tractor - Hello neighbour! I'm in Plumstead Common.

Have been looking forward to going to this match all season, first one I look for on fixture release day, so also very disappointed to miss out.

On another note, it is my wife's birthday that day so I can't look too disappointed!

Yes it all depends where you live.I live in Rochdale Lancashire so I tend to go Fleetwood Bolton ,acrington and Morecambe where I'll be tomorrow .the advantage of being up here I think is that not all fans fancy the long drive so So I'm usually I'm ok for a ticket as I have to wait for general sale.

Guess if they opened the ground to all Town fans who wanted a ticket there'd be more of us than them!

closest away game !!!!!!

Suspect we could take double that number to the game. Police getting involved in crowd safety issues again?

@Blue_Poison I know Plumstead :) I get my missus flowers from the florist there (Crimson Rose). Wonder if you'll be popping in there on match day if its your wife's birthday ;)

As Superblues says we could try for tickets in the home stands. I've done that a few times including our 6-1 win at Millwall in the '78 FA Cup but it doesn't appeal nowadays. Wimbledon away last season wasn't enjoyable in the home seats on account of a bunch of their "fans" looking for trouble after we scored. I'll just watch on a live stream.

I just register with the home club as a supporter and go with the home
supporters. Clap politely if they score. If we score, I turn to the person next me and exclaim ‘oh no!'
I just smile inside.
I have to remember to not wear any Ipswich colours. I once forgot that I had Ipswich socks on though.

I don't get it Eeyore? How can you clap an opposition goal politely or not celebrate a town goal. Even if I could somehow subdue my outward celebration of a town goal it has absolutely no appeal whatsoever.
If I can't celebrate a town goal in the stadium in am watching at then I'd prefer just to listen to commentary on the radio or even chance an online stream and celebrate as loudly and excitedly as I want to.

My dad took me to Carrow Road in 1992 in the hime end as a 12 year old, the only way he could get tickets, and despite telling me absolutely not to loudly celebrate a town goal, when Neil Thompson scored in the last minute to secure a 2-0 win I went mental! If it's I. Your blood it's in your blood. I would never not celebrate a town goal wherever I am and would have no interest being in a ‘home' end.

NT_Blue. Everyone is different. I have supported Town a lot longer than you. You don't have to act in a certain way to demonstrate that it is ‘in your blood'. I wouldn't miss a match I wanted to see because there were no away tickets available. I went to Morecambe today - last minute decision. so went on the home terrace. Not a problem. Had a good day.
