Town Revamp Fan Engagement Groups
Monday, 8th Mar 2021 20:45

Town have announced they are revamping their fan engagement groups as they seek to “increase and improve transparency and dialogue with supporters”.

The Fans’ Forum will continue with its current members, aiming to encourage regular open and honest dialogue between supporters and the club regarding off-field issues.

The agenda is set ahead of each meeting and ideas and suggestions can be passed on to members of the forum via the contact below.

Club secretary Stuart Hayton and PR manager Dan Palfrey will chair the meetings, which will take place four times a season usually on a Saturday, with supporter liaison office Liz Edwards present, while different club employees will also attend when the agenda relates to their department.

The club plans to publish minutes from each meeting on the official website and media channels.

The Fans’ Panel, which was launched in 2017, is to be rebranded as Town Matters with a representative group of supporters from different demographics, stands around the ground and matchday habits taking part, working with the club on topics such as the matchday experience, ticketing, iFollow, branding, digital marketing, community work, communication, stadium facilities and young fan initiatives.

Dan Palfrey will chair the meetings, which will take place every six weeks, with Liz Edwards in attendance with club employees present depending on the topics discussed. Minutes will also be published on the club website and social media.

The Fans of the Future group, created in 2018, will continue to run and the club will engage with its young members in the weeks to come.

Town are also looking to launch a working group for fans based away from Suffolk, Long Distance Blues.

The club will confirm arrangements regarding this group in due course, but to register interest email dan.palfrey@itfc.co.uk.

Membership for the Fans’ Forum and Town Matters are currently at capacity, but to register interest for the future or to put forward suggestions and ideas email the same address.

I don't care what anyone says, this isn't coming from Evans!

Headline "Revamped Fans Forum "...... but the forum is at capacity so just register your interest. The fans panel is rebranded "Town Matters".

Whilst Evans remains a distant and anonymous owner hoping to sell any remaining assets.

Much as I'd like it to be the case I can't honestly accept that this has anything to do with our reported new owners .

if the truth was known it may well be a result of the Lambert / Evans clear out meetings

Another publicity stunt to try and get fans that are annoyed with the Evans regime to buy season tickets much like the 5 point plan malarkey.

When the club have no idea what Evans is doing themselves, which is obvious from LON last week, the transparency between the club and the supporters will have very little impact. The guy running the show needs to be there and accountable to the fans, which wont happen whilst we still have this current owner

As others have said, they were ignoring our voices for months and Evans even released a statement which basically said fans have no idea what they're talking about. Then season ticket seasons are weeks away...

In 14 years we've gone from being called customers instead of supporters and now we are at our lowest point in over 60 off years and season tickets will be announced in a month or two they want to start this at long last 🙄

The only off-field issue most supporters want to see resolved is probably new ownership.

As I see it the club's arrangements for engagement with supporters is fragmented. Whilst I welcome any form of engagement, the process and structure of doing so has to hang together and the product of these forums has to be seen by the Board.
As a first step the club should have an engagement strategy that is co-produced with supporters. The process will then have a better chance of being owned by supporters.

Would it not be easier for the club to become a member on TWTD, then they could find out what real fans think! MM is brilliant, MM is useless, Paul Hirst is going to be good, Paul Hirst is going to be bad, Paul Lambert is what we need, Paul Lambert is not what we need, ME is not helping without ME ITCFC is finished. In other words if you give the supporters a team worth supporting they will be happy (well most, some will complain whatever the situation).

Why would anyone want to ''register their interest'' to possibly have a meeting in the future with the head of PR? He'll just sit there with Evans' hand up his arse and regurgitate whatever he's told to ala North Korea. #EvansOut
