trncbluearmy, I reckon being closer to home is a pulling factor, what a stupid comment.

@Bluearmy71
To be fair to trncbluearmy, if Newcastle are relegated there could be job cuts or restructuring. If anything apart from if they have a relegation wage reduction clause in their contract, the players are safer if relegated as they have the guaranteed high paying contracts which are harder to get rid off.

More on topic, Grant has done a great job and best of luck to him at Newcastle.

I grasped what you meant, and it's still a stupid comment. I don't think the fact Newcastle will get relegated is something that should, and wouldn't, have crossed his mind.

Even if Newcastle get relegated and Town get promoted we'll be in the same league and the Toons will have the advantage of a windfall payment so I really don't get the comments that Grant has been shortsighted. Besides, its not just about what division your employer is playing in. It's about the whole package and your personal preferences/situation or a new challenge. Just wish the guy good luck.

All the above aside.. I think this is a big shame - I think the social media connection and improvements installed by Grant have been awesome, no wonder other clubs want some of it.... He's probably closer to family and been offered a massive deal to jack in what he's doing here.

Good luck and I hope the foundations and processes have been laid down to keep this up now.

Never knew of Grant, or thought about his job, until I read this. But then I thought, yes, media management at ITFC has vastly improved of late. I continue to think that Paul Lambert's influence over all aspects of Portman Road culture has made and is continuing to make a massive difference. Now, having read Grant's CV, I can see how his work has developed over the last 12 months in particular. It's not surprising that a Premier club has signed him up. ITFC is being taken notice of across the piece, again, and its staff will be attracting interest and getting offers.
