Lambert Set to Be Confirmed on Saturday
Friday, 26th Oct 2018 14:25

Paul Lambert will be confirmed as Town boss on Saturday morning at 9am ahead of the game at Millwall. The new manager will watch the match from the stands with Bryan Klug in caretaker charge.

It’s likely there will be a press conference with Lambert, 49, who is expected to sign a three-year contract, early in the week, with Tuesday currently pencilled in.

The new manager will meet the players and existing coaching staff at Playford Road on Sunday.

The deal is believed to be all but done but Town won’t make the announcement today with legend Kevin Beattie’s funeral taking place this afternoon.

Lambert is set to bring two members of staff to Portman Road to work alongside him, who we understant will be Stuart Taylor as his assistant and Jim Henry as fitness coach. Ian Culverhouse, previously Lambert's assistant at Norwich, is not thought to be part of the team.

Former Limerick manager Taylor, 43, previously worked with Lambert at Aston Villa, Wolves and Stoke, while Henry was on his staff at the Potters.

Thats it if paul lambert come in ipswich town as a club is dead to me.
Utter disgrace and shambles from the prawn sandwhich fans to the pathetic owner.
Pathetic choice as a manager done nothing over the last few years and being ex norwich just Adds salt to a very open wound.
He could win the league he still would be norwich.
Evans can do one as well i hope we get relegated im sick of this regime.
Evans out

I would like to beg the question, what assurances has Lambert got from the PLC about funds being made available in January. If there is no serious investment on the table ten he has only come here to see out his time, much like Boring Billy McCarthy. I hope I am proved wrong
EVANS OUT

Dont expect a quick turnaround in results, he has to work with what he has inherited ,Pray that we dont get cut adrift before January and Evans has seen the light and makes real funds available ..

GET IN!

I think this is a good signing for Town maybe even a bit of a coup - but only time will tell.

Lets all give him a decent welcome next Sat at PR and get right behind him.

Evans must back him with the cash in Jan though as he isn't a magician.

@Phil, is he really still only 49?

I am really hopeful that this will be the start of a new era. Proper football and a hungrier manager. I wanted him when he was at Colchester. Going to take a long while to turn things around with a poor squad but the fans need to stick with him, Needs patience from the fans. And if we can get a result at Norwich everyone will forget he managed them. Good luck Paul
