Lee-Barrett Set to Start
Lee-Barrett Set to Start
Saturday, 19th Mar 2011 10:24

TWTD understands that second-choice keeper Arran Lee-Barrett is set to make a surprise return to the Blues' starting line-up in this afternoon's game against Scunthorpe.

Lee-Barrett hasn't featured for the first team since the 3-1 defeat to Peterborough in February last year.

We also understand that academy second-year Josh Carson, a Northern Ireland U21 international midfielder, will be in the squad having travelled with the first team to Leeds last week.

Think he did well when he had his chance last season & was unlucky to be dropped.

About time Fulop was given a rest, he has been very inconsistent all season. Good luck Arran - you didn't let us down before and were unlucky to lose your place.

Fingers crossed for a much needed win today.

Murphy needs to follow his ex boss out of PR. He is hopeless. ARB is a decent keeper.

Against Scunthorpe is probably the right time to give him a go again.

good luck to the lad. Fulop and Priskin can go shopping together.ALB did fine when he came in last season when Murphy was injured, he is certainly no worse than the other 2 keepers.

Never really been impressed with Fulop if I am to be honest, inconsistent and a liability at crosses.

Would love us to make a move for Joe Lewis, but can see a PL team picking him up, fantastic keeper.

I am not surprised. Fülöp's performance against Cardiff, while it included some good saves, was very lucky--a lot of flapping at crosses and there was that one utterly flukey save where he got a weak hand on a shot but it bounced over the bar.

What a load of tush! Fulop has kept us in many a match this season with some fine goalkeeping. Yes he needs to do some serious work on dealing with crosses and corners, but if he was good in that area then he would be playing for a top PL team. ALB is a decent keeper who I have every faith in, but to play him in front of Fulop is an act of foolishness!

Josh Carson can play as a striker right? Might be worth a 20 minute cameo.

Surely not! Fulop did so well again Cardiff and Leeds, although has been inconsistent I agree. If he is dropped now for a player whose main experience is in non-league, it doesn't bode well for Fulop's future at Ipswich. He only has a year left on his contract so surely must be sold this summer if we don't offer him a new deal. Remember, Keane spent most of our 2010 summer transfer budget on Fulop.

I fail to see why some of the cretinous bunglechops on here constantly belittle Fulop, he is a decent shotstopper...adored at Leicester with Premier league experience. Some of the 'so-called' Ipswich fans would probably be moaning and flouncing like little girls if Buffon was our keeper..IMHO! KOYB

Hope they both take their chance today...Fulop only seems to turn it on when there's a tv camera pointing at him.

Fulop is an excellent shot stopper - agreed somewhat inconsistent, but players weakness points are what the club's coaches should be working on.
Another decent player that will soon be gone I guess.

Folop never has been and never will be a top quality Goalkeeper. Agree with the coments made about the Cardiff match , he was very lucky to come away from there with a clean sheet. When he parrys the ball he doesn't get it in a safe area more often than not it goes straight back yo the opposition. For goodness sake lets recoup some of the money we wasted on him in the summer this summer.ALB never let us down last season and with him and Murphy at the club we don't need an expensive flop as well. Sign up ALB and Murph and spend the rest of the money on improving the rest of the squad.
