Keane Happy With Point
Keane Happy With Point

Boss Roy Keane was happy to take a point away from Town’s visit to Plymouth having gone behind in the first half. Argyle manager Paul Sturrock says he will consider appealing against Darcy Blake’s red card.

Keane said: “I could have a go at my players for not hitting the target more but Plymouth defended unbelievably well. It's important to recognise that.

“You only have to look at Quinn's chance and the defender running back and clearing off the line.

"I guess when you go one down away from home, particularly with the ball taking ages to come back in when it goes out of play, we have got to be contented with a draw. The encouraging thing for me as a manager is that we are creating chances."

Keane was pleased with the way Jon Stead took his chance when it came: "Steady took his goal well and deserves full credit for getting in that position. He gambled on the backpass, but still had a lot to do and it was a cool finish.

"He has not been involved recently but he scored twice for the reserves in midweek, so he's had a good week.

"It's very frustrating but we'll keep going. We'll take the point and move on."

Elsewhere, a tabloid newspaper claims Keane is looking to add a more experienced coach to his staff to help end the Blues’ winless run. Earlier in the season, when ex-Manchester United coach Brian Kidd was linked with a coaching role the Blues, Keane said he wasn’t planning on any backroom changes.

Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock says he will consider whether to appeal against Darcy Blake’s red card for a two-footed lunge on Alan Quinn: "We will have a look at the video and see if Darcy deserved a straight red card. If not we will lodge an appeal but first we will look at the tape.

"Overall I don't know at this stage whether it was a point gained or two dropped. What I do know is that we played with confidence in the first half and when we were a goal up but once we conceded that confidence seemed to be sucked out of us."

During the 91/92 season i was working as a steward at portman road and even tho we won the title that year and were promoted to the premier there was a bloke in the west stand who spent all game every game throughout the season incessantly moaning. My point being that it is just in some peoples natures to moan no matter what. Those supporters constantly moaning on here are depressing, like we havent got enuf to feel down about with our results so far. Are they true supporters? I dont know, but they are crap supporters. Everyone has the right to express an opinion yes but it is a constant barrage of negativity.
We all know they are a minority of people but they are very vocal as most people with nothing sensible to say are. I agree with an above post that said those people have got very little experience of dealing with adversity and are therefore not tough enuf to deal with it. I am loving this season so far, hard times can be good times if you,ve got a bit of resilience about you, if not then it feels like the end of the world. On saturday we will show u our resilience by getting behind the team 100%. I'm not demanding a win, if the players go out and give 100% as i fully expect them too then i will be happy. And spare a thought for Derby, 16 first team players sidelined, but if you think this will make them a walk over then please dont turn up. Disrepecting our opponents is a weakness of character that is easily exploited

Mate if we were top would not be moaning but as were bottom i will moan all I want!

If you ask me a crap supporter is someone like you who seems to be well happy were bottom? What that about? Maybe your use to losing (outside of football) and have become used to it? Either way mate let me tell you your better than that, you love ipswich yes, but do not have to be happy about the fact we are bottom!

As I've said before some fans have no expectation or ambition ' as long as a ball is kicked they will be happy ' - no wonder Managers love being at the club!! - such easy people to satisfy it's unreal.
As for some fans suggesting others stay away - GET REAL - the club needs that like a hole in the head. What planet are such people on??

bluelass7 - is it necessary for you to label everyone pillocks, and various other derogatory personal comments on here - just because they disagree with your views ??
If it is necessary you must be a sad person, because we may feel the same about you but have more respect for you as a supporter - perhaps you should think before posting and word your postings more suitably.
Obviously your ambition doesn't match everyones - but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Proves the clubs current plight is dividing support - not at all good for anyones benefit.
