Jordan Rhodes 07:10 - Dec 29 with 1871 views | FrankMarshall | Had no idea he was doing so well at Blackpool. 15 goals in 19 appearances...jeez!! Know it's League 1 but that's phenomenal at any level!

Plenty of time for him to step down to the Scottish league.

They are perilously close to relegation, would make sense to recall Rhodes.
Jordan Rhodes on 23:36 - Dec 29 with 906 views | BrettenhamBlue | Blackpool fans praised him even though they lost 3-0. Rhodes coming back to ITFC would give everyone a massive lift. He would be one of the few players we could bring in who would be up to speed in no time.

Jordan Rhodes is an excellent goal poacher and one on one finisher, but his weakness, which has frustrated some of his managers down the years, is that he isn't good at "defending from the front" by pressing. He doesn't fit the mould for.a McKenna forward, for whom work-rate is a very highly valued asset in a striker. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Know it's late in his career, but is it something he could be coached in? Feel right now we are in need of someone who can grab a goal from nothing, and Rhodes is brilliant at that.

He is not the droid McKenna is looking for.

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/33704/Show/Jordan-Rhodes His defensive play has actually been VERY solid for a striker in the last few seasons. His main issue (and it seems to have been an issue for a few years) is his off-side awareness (gets caught out 0.7 every game). He likes to break quickly and score goals/create assists which can be frustrating for other team members when he's caught off side. Pass completion is very high at 70%. Shots per game is 3.1 which doesn't seem high but nearly all of them are on target. A majority of those shots are in the penalty area. His stats are very strong but age is against him. I'd certainly prefer him to be in our team than some other strikers we have at the moment. Was impressed with Buabo but also REALLY impressed with Sinclair Armstrong. Rhodes and Armstrong for me would be great additions to the squad.

Jordan Rhodes has played for Huddersfield in the League Cup this season, so he can only be recalled by them or carry on at Blackpool, under what is known as the "Dane Scarlett Rule". He is, as I said before, an excellent goal poacher, but I really don't think he would fit the profile for a striker in McKenna's system.
