Match thoughts 20:58 - Sep 16 with 1400 views

We had wonderful seats just behind the cameras.

The game was pretty scrappy and a lot of stop and start.

One thing I noticed was how our warmup looked very professional compared to Wednesdays.

Burgess and Wolfie were the standouts for me. Wonderful from both.

We were happy to play under immense pressure at the back. We'll definitely get stung at some point but when it works it's great to watch.

Chappers has the lungs of a marathon runner.

That's a good win. We've learned how to use the dark arts.

The only downside was the nutter on the train home who wanted to fight women and pensioners. Shouting off about being a gypsy whilst his kids in floods of tears. A wrong'un if I've seen one.

Also interesting to see some of the squad doing their warm down sprints in the background when McKenna was doing his post-match presser. We act and behave like an actual professional football club now.

Funny you mentioned warm-ups. I commented on ours a while back compared to the oppositions and got pelted on here but you’re right, you can tell a lot from it. Players are human at the end of the day and no matter how professional, you can see who’s up for it, who’s well drilled an who isn’t, who’s looking a bit sharper than others and it quickly transfers into the start of games.

I thought we started much better and gradually took control as the game wore on. Probably one of Wolfenden’s easiest days in a town shirt.
