Over the next few weeks I thought it might be nice to relive the season that has just past through the "Town in 5's" game by game, good, bad and Charlton away.
Please feel to add any comment on the games as we go, things you remember thoughts on the game, etc etc etc .....
My main recollection of this is that we were still stuck firmly beneath the heat dome that led to such a sweltering summer. This was the last time I sat in the Cobbold because the combination of heat, better crowds and minimal leg room are not a recipe for enjoying a football match.
My main takeaways were that Greg Leigh looked a real handful when he came on and that Morsy should have scored. Nonetheless, a solid if unspectacular start to the season against one of the better sides in the division.
The thing I noticed is how much better the ‘Town in 5’ production got as the season progressed. That’s not to say it wasn’t good - it just improved. Maybe that was because we weren’t losing too often!
I felt at the time that a draw first game is never the worst result, especially against what was obviously going to be a decent side in Bolton.
