Plymouth - super consistent- some context. 17:55 - Feb 18 with 1493 views | cbower | There is no doubt many have been surprised by Plymouth. For some time the feeling has been that they would fade but they haven't. Consequently, we sit a massive 8 points adrift of them as it stands. Yet, it is such fine margins. When they beat us 2-1 at Home Park, we were a whisker away from an equaliser when Cooper touched Walton's header onto the crossbar. Had that gone in, they would have two points less and Town one more. The gap would be five. Barring a cruel final minute deflection a few weeks ago in the home game, again we would be two points better off and they would be a further point worse. The gap would have been 2! All ifs and buts but those are really very fine margins and we have been on the wrong end of them unfortunately.

In the games between us and them the fine margins have gone their way. That doesn't change the fact that they have consistently scored late goals to overcome stubborn opponents for nearly 2 seasons now. They have improved from a very good season last time. If we fail to get promoted this season, there is much we can learn from them not least that patience with a manager who is getting much right will pay dividends in time.
