It's the lack of quality full-backs in the 4 man defence that's the pressing problem - critical positions in the modern game, and last night both of them were awful defensively and offensively (not really Donacien's fault re him being switched to LB).

With the players we've got at the moment I'd play Woolfenden, Edmundson and Donacien in a back three, with Vincent-Young / Burns and Penney / Coulsen wing-backs. Aluko could also play wing-back pretty well.

Then if we go with three midfielders, it'd be Morsy, Fraser (not playing in a nonsense advanced position where he barely touches the ball) and El Mizouni, with Chaplin and Pigott up front.

This is what I generally believe too, but not just the full backs, the center backs too. If our wingers get too committed in the attack, then Edmundsen is pretty much the only CB that can consistently cover whilst the FBs get back into the line.

Our recruitment was so crap in that regard.

Ironically, our best LB performance came when Burgess was parachuted in there. Never played LB again.
