Very interesting from a scientific perspective. It indicates that the cats have some sense of self-awareness in that that they can tell that the image in front of them is not a thing in itself but is an image of themselves and the person with them.

It is similar to the mirror test used to test animals for self awareness. In this case the results are obviously selective, we see only positive ones here. More tests need to be done.
