A team which has nothing in the final third will ever go up 22:20 - Nov 26 with 1296 viewspointofblue

And that, unfortunately, is us.

Neither Norwood or Jackson were helped by the players behind them. The usually effective Garbutt had a miserable night, only 'bettered' by Huws, being was beaten to every ball and whose passing was dire. Donacien was far more like his old self and didn't suit wing back, not that that's a surprise to anyone. Edwards and Rowe made such an impact we could have put a plant pot and a spade on the pitch for all the difference they made.

The most galling thing is we postponed this match due to international call ups - Dobra, Downes, Dozzell, Georgiou and Judge. Not one of them made it on the pitch tonight.

And yet ... here we are, more than a third of the way into the season, comfortably in the top two, six points clear of 7th place (with a greatly superior GD), only having been beaten twice.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Jackson & Norwood have also scored a combined 14 goals thus far.

Honestly some people beggar belief.

I think we are a little one dimensional and over reliant on the Norwood Jackson combo. We don't really have a plan B.

I suspect Lambert had hoped Keane may be the targetman option but he is probably a number 10. He may still grow into the side over the season. He seemed brighter on his introduction today, albeit it being a bit too late.

We still have Sears to come back who will be useful at this level. It will be interesting to see if we resign Ward who could be another attacking option as well.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

And couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo tonight. Oddly I thought the same for the most part on Saturday even if we did score twice. But we're getting into so many good positions and we're not converting, either due to an awful final pass or shot; that will cost us unless we can turn it around.

2 points out of 9 from our last three league games at Portman Road.

Of course we will go up, this league is absolute trash.

Next season with Lambert would be suicide mind but can worry about that when the situation arises.

If Sears takes as long as Keane to get up to match speed then the season will have ended before we can utilise him properly.

Hilarious isnt it. A difficult game we edged bit didnt get the points. Still in our hands to be top and clear of 3rd with a game in hand. But he's ruling us out of contention. deary me.

MUST WIN EVERY GAME OR WE ARE A DISGRACE.

Having a (legal, according to the referee) shot on target would be nice. Can just imagine the reaction on here under another manager if we came out of a game with no shots on target at home.

It doesn't matter as he's about 5' 8" and what we need is some presence from the bench. We could do with signing a 6' 3" plus player up top to give us another option against physical teams.

That's one of the stats which, IMO, gets too much undeserved attention. Is a weak scuff straight at the goalie better than a powerful strike which flashes millimetres wide, or a header fractionally over the bar?

In 90 minutes we should manage at least ONE shot on target, whether it's scuffed or otherwise. Wycombe were on the back foot for the majority of the game yet still managed three, one thanks to their twelfth man.
