Didn't realise this was a thing - https://www.blog.noddle.co.uk/finance/football-fans-warned-over-high-season-tick

Surprised ME hasn't got in on this action yet...

That's effectively how the installment scheme works. The club lends you the money for your ST and you pay them back over the year. I don't know if they charge extra for that.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I'd forgotten about the installment scheme, which gets me thinking...

All those ST holders who moan about the ticket promotions could presumably have a point if the promotions reduced the costs of all separate games below what you would pay if you paid in installments. How many would have to be £12 before this was the case?

No, it's a 0% loan.

And a very high proportion of ST holders pay this way.

For the cheapest Early Bird adult season ticket (£381, RBRL/SARL, £25 matchday), it would take 15 or more £12 ticket promotions in a 23-game home season to be cheaper than buying that season ticket.

For the most expensive ordinary ones (£607, Cobbold C, EoE H, H2, N, O, £35 matchday), it would take 9 or more to be cheaper.

Edit: 9 not 8 on the second calculation.

It makes sense to, especially if interest - or hefty "administrative fees" - are not being charged.
