James Collins - positive 20:52 - Jan 9 with 2672 viewsMrTown

All the people saying I’m negative. Well hold onto your hats. I’m all over James Collins deal until the end of the season. Experienced head, played a lot of football at the highest level. Would be a very good business if we could get it done.

Would also like Woolfenden back and Pennington out. Would be good business imo.

Very good signing, If he's fit. Seems to have been constantly injured

He'd be stretchered off before half hour mark clutching his thigh never to be seen again though, but he'd look assured for that half an hour.

Like the Steven Taylor deal. But he left us and has had 2 consistent years football. Ridiculous really..

Only blemish is that Collins did get injured in his first session after signing a Villa deal.

Fitness is the issue here, or rather lack of it.

Of the signings made/rumoured so far this one reeks of desperation to me. I cannot believe Collins would be one of PL first choices.

Scraping the barrel it says to me. Ageing, injury prone and a stop gap solution. We're plugging holes in a syncing ship with dead wood...

Lambert said he’s doing a temp job to try and keep
Town up this season and then rebuild next season but that some of the players brought in, in this window will be with half an eye on that rebuilding process. I’d say Collins fits the former.

Is he the one who took a piss on a table at a party, or something?

Probably 15+ years ago...!

It makes a lot of sense but injury wise he could be another Walters. I’d still like to see CCV here. But we are beggars, not choosers, now.

This is now going to make Donacien 5th choice centre back.

Yes, one good thing about the influx of players is that we should now be able to pick an 18 without using any of Hurst's permanent signings.

But he will not play many games. After January we can’t replace him. Just typical Evans bargain basement.

I wish we would sign someone who has played competitive football this season.

Amazed that the one positive is a barely fit player who we didn't sign for that very reason, despite being desperate, a few months back... who has since been injured and released by another club.

I admire your optimism. I myself can see the sparks coming from the positivity barrel as its being scraped!

It's time to make the best of it.
