Today was another great battling performance from the whole squad including the subs. But what struck me again was the key role Morsy plays in all this. He is our Captain Fantastic, combative and on the edge of yellow cards (!) but the beating heart of this Ipswich Town side. In previous times Town was often known as a soft touch. Not any more. This guy is so so important to us. |

I’m already getting messages asking if we don’t get promotion to the Premiership this season will we be able to hang on to McKenna? My hope is that he will be challenged and man enough to want us to get to the promised land before he leaves - or not?…. |

Football and sport in general has been utterly corrupted by money and Middle-Eastern oil money in particular. Until we rid ourselves of this plague of sports washing it will be the same old financially 'irregular' teams winning time after time. It's even more hopeless with the creeps at UEFA and FIFA in charge. Depressing. |

Has anyone seen warnings that TeamCard Points will be deleted tomorrow? I can't remember seeing one until an email I received today, less than 24 hours before they'll be deleted. I think they should give clear warnings at least a week before, otherwise it looks like a bit of a con, treating supporters with contempt. |

For me McKenna is the best Manager we've had since Sir Bobby - possibly bar Joe Royle - for being able to turn matches around through either tactical changes, substitutions, or both. He's done just that in the last three matches now. I think he made a mistake not bringing Ball on when we were leading at Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth, but I guess he's human, not God, and he's on the path to becoming a top top Manager - hopefully with us. When you add that to his fantastic coaching ability, getting the best out of the likes of Edwards, Evans and Donacien, just as Sir Bobby did with his players, then we have real gold dust here. Long may he reign at Ipswich Town! |

Worth bearing in mind that around all the wrecked lives of suicidal addiction Denise Coates, Bet365's founder, was given the biggest pay packet in British corporate history in 2020, £421 million plus £48 million in dividends. Worth remembering that viewers, including children, were exposed to nearly 90 minutes of gambling ads during the 2018 World Cup. Worth noting that operators' gross profits from football rose from £578 million in 2015-16 to £1.1 billion in 2019-20. While we might sympathise with Derby's situation and Rooney's turn to drinking, it's worth remembering that his move to Derby was bankrolled by 32Red who insisted he wear the No 32 shirt. I have no confidence in this current Government's promise of tougher regulation - regulations which were relaxed, incidentally, during Tony B Liar''s era. Mind you, I've got no confidence in this Government on anything. |

I love the new signings in general, very exciting, though we've left it badly late to sort out the crucial CB situation. However, while I'm pleased with the tougher approach generally, I'm uncomfortable with a number of aspects of it. The treatment of Chambers, the dumping of players in the U23s, and now the treatment of Jacobs and attempt to get Morell are all things that go against the grain. We can be tougher without being arseholes. I'm sure I'll get lots of flak but this stuff doesn't sit comfortably for me when they blather on about our history and values. Wouldn't have sat well with Sir Bobby either. |

I know this is utter sacrilege at the moment, but I'm failing to see what difference Cook has brought to this lot. Still the same lack of shots on goal, the same poor passing and tackling and endless passing backwards to the backs to fiddle about with the ball in our half. If they can do it at the likes of Blackpool and Portsmouth, why not here? Everyone keeps blaming the players, but I see no new positive energy in the second halves, no great changes of tactics or substitutions; please, Paul Cook, make a difference this second half. |
