It is sustained and subsidised by riding on the coat tails of the men’s game. It wouldn’t have the same prominence and coverage on its own merit.
However, it’s a positive thing getting more girls and women active, and the game should improve over time given more participants and experience.

I know as a man I can't say that these days as it makes me an automatic rapist but I haven't seen hoofing in women's football since McCarthy at home to Bolton in 2015

A little harsh. It certainly isn’t the spectacle quality men’s football can be. However as a father of a daughter who has had her first season in a girls league, I hope it gets an opportunity to grow an improve. |  |

It's about where I would expect it to be given it's stage of development. I enjoy watching it on the box sometimes
I feel no great need to denigrate it as a game that is progressing.
I feel even less need to whinge about being called a sexist and bringing rape into the debate.

Ok.
For a start there’s been little or no football at her school for girls. Her for game for the school has been this year and she aged 11.
There’s very very few Sunday league teams for girls too, they have just 10 teams at her age group across the whole of Suffolk.
TV coverage has been pretty much non-existent until the last couple of years.
They have adopted the game with all the same rules and regulations which is a good thing.
I quite like the lack of spitting, swearing, play acting, diving and poor attitude. Be a shame if that creeps in to the women’s game, but inevitably I suspect it will (as it has in boys football) | |
