I like them.

Evening with a load of well dressed people drinking and having a laugh whilst being entertained in some way.

What's not to like?

you can get a cheap tux and shirt from ASDA if you need one. About the same price as hiring one from Coes and you can use it again.

So the problem is John, not the event.

Last one I went to was organised by a good friend of mine so I had certain privileges.

The guest list was Steve Collins, Michael Watson, Frank Bruno and Tim Wetherspoon. I had a meet and greet with them all and ended the evening propping up the bar talking sh1te to ex Heavyweight World Boxing Champion Tim Wetherspoon.

Brilliant stuff.

I love getting my DJ out. I've got one from the 60's owned by a mates father.

Only wear it once a year. My Corps bow tie and cumberband, medals, and Veteran pin.

Love it.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

There are good & bad (lie everything else in life).
It can often depend on who has organised it
