Burns was absolutely terrible today. Those two free headers absolutely summed him up today. Should have been off at HT

There are many Frimmers posts you could have a go at, I don't see how this is one of them.

Come on KM get burns off ffs (n/t) on 18:21 - Feb 3 with 1482 views | GavTWTD | I don't think Burns was any worse than any other player in the first half. Hutchinson for me is a good 10 but isn't as good as Burns on the wing. It was a bad day.

I just don't see what many do in Burns. He's occasionally exciting because he plays a high wide position and it's a given that he will at times be able to run at a fullback. But.. imo He can't beat a fullback who's facing him He can't head the ball. He uses elbows more. Hence the fteekicks given against him. His short passes are weak His crosses are woeful maybe 1 good in 8 I would love to see what others do in him. Tbh even KM I'm still unsure what he sees with him every week.

Hutchinson can play both, with the play at his feet he torments left backs and turns them inside out.

This, every single player Town on the pitch was poor first half. Burns was no worse than Chaplin and Sarmiento, both of whom were just as sloppy in possession. I wouldn't have had a problem with any of them being hooked at half-time.

Compared to his positional peers, Burns is: *In the 75th percentile for expected assists *In the 82nd percentile for progressive carries *In the 96th percentile for progressive passes received *In the 75th percentile for goals minus xG (scores more than expected from his opportunities) *In the 91st percentile for crosses into the penalty area *In the 91st percentile for shot-creating actions from defensive work *In the 70th percentile for shot-creating actions from drawing fouls *In the 63rd percentile for shot-creating actions from live passes *In the 78th percentile for tackles in the attacking third *In the 88th percentile for aerial duels won, 82nd percentile for % of aerial duels won *In the 90th percentile for avoiding miscontrols *In the 97th percentile for avoiding being dispossessed *In the 85th percentile for blocks He commits 1.19 fouls per 90 minutes. You want other attributes in a winger, which is perfectly fine. He's weak at taking on players, for someone in his position certainly. His crossing isn't woeful though, far from it, and your inability or unwillingness to see good performances when they present themselves exposes you as a fairly useless witness. Today he had a poor game and I thought Hutchinson should have come on earlier.

This coming from the person who last season said he’d swap Wes for Owen Dale !! Where is he now ? Wes has been fantastic for us and will be again I bet you couldn’t wait to crack one off to a poor performance !

Not his first poor performance but nice to see you finally acknowledge one tho. And Owen Dale. Not sure what you're on about there but as you've mentioned him he's a solid league 1 winger Which tbh is exactly what burns is and where he'll end up back to. But I'm only saying this as you've brought it up before you moan about it. :)

I've commented on some good burns performances actually but I can't control you ignoring those. Those stats don't really show him at the level I think we need tbh. And 4 goal involvements with half the season gone isnt great for a player in an attacking style we do. Not sure why I should see then and think wow. And I can't help you if you feel his crossing is great.

His crossing is better than the majority of his peers, statistically. Your inability to see this is your problem, much like your contention that he simply whacks it. He scores more than expected from his opportunities, as measured by experienced analysts with huge databases. McKenna's reasoning for selecting him is borne out in this information, which most are able to obtain visually to at least some degree but you seemingly can't. You're welcome to link examples of when you've said he played well. I don't read all your output obviously but certainly recall matches in which he was praised by neutrals but criticised by you. Better exists at this level of course, but it costs good money. Hutchinson is much more dangerous taking players on but McKenna generally prefers Burns' all-round game for the majority of matches. Will afford you the opportunity to have the last word 😅

Can’t be bothered to trawl through the heaps of bull you post but pretty sure you mentioned it after the 2-2 at Pompy. Maybe you have a different view if you actually went to a game. What a weapon !

What Frimmers doesn’t acknowledge is Burns’ defensive work which is far more effective than that of Jackson or Hutchinson.
