The only thing heading south will be their higher earners.

Surely if a small tax rise is going to hurt them that much, couldn't they just work a few more hours, cancel their Netflix, try to eat fewer avocados, don't take so many fancy holidays and live within their means?

I imagine a high percentage of those high earners will be paid by the state anyway - consultants, GP’s, surgeons and senior Council bosses.

I still think it’s a fairly pointless endeavour given the relatively small number of PAYE employees on those wages. Those paying themselves through their companies, or through dividends will still dodge it. If they were true progressives they’d look at wealth taxes (mansion tax/CGT/inheritence), but as we know they are just vacuous nationalists.

i could say something stereotypical about the unlikeliness of scots being able to eat fewer avocados, but it's the season of goodwill!

I'm looking to revive the medieval process of attainder.

And I have other permanent ways to get rid of extremely wealthy people.

It's what Labour should be doing but never will given such tight control over candidate selections.

Vacuous nationalists who have implemented progressive policies those of us in England of the left could only dream of.

As it is, the Scots don't have the power to impose wealth taxes but they do have power to tinker with income tax.
