Johnny cash, velvet underground, buddy guy, pulp on that night …. Oh and Rolf Harris pyramid stage
Well my list was some of the acts who played Bearded Theory this year (there were plenty of great young bands too, and the festival is much more affordable than Glasto,)
I thought she was really good..... on 22:50 - Jun 23 by Steve_M
Yeah, saw a bit if it. She was clearly enjoying being there as was the audience.
Randomness at festivals is good, problem here might be a lack of really good acts or sets. Arctic Monkeys not quite on it.

Glastonbury is the festival for randomness. There are so many stages, tents and venues that you're almost bound to find something interesting going on.
IMO you miss out if all you do is sit in front of the Pyramid Stage for the headliners.

Nah but he’s been doing that since about 2015 tbf….
Not everyone’s cup of tea especially with how raw they were when they first started out.
They're so overrated, really dull this. They have some fantastic riffs but I really dislike Alex Turner.
Re. The OP mentioning Carly Rae Jepson and people saying people have different tastes, they do, but she only ever had 1 song, she's not ever had any sustained popularity / success. No idea when she was on though, fair enough if she was an early afternoon performance.

I saw them last week and they were fantastic, much higher energy than this.
Hard to disagree with them being overrated because as always it depends how you rate them. But I think they are great. Huge catalogue and longevity.

They are my favourite genre of music, I should like them but other than a couple of songs which give me nostalgia of the inbetweeners i never have liked them. I was expecting to begrudgingly accept they put on a great show tonight but to be honest I think they've been really disappointing. Easy for me to say as I'm not a fan!

You definitely aren’t the only one that feels that way. Some of my mates that I used to listen with back in the day when their first albums came out aren’t a fan of them anymore cause of their last couple of albums. I happen to love them but it does feel like a completely different genre, almost a new band.

This is the answer. There is always something on that you’ll like somewhere on site.
This is the first one I’ve missed since 2011 (we didn’t try for tickets), but I hope all those who are there have the time of their lives.

Nobody in history has headlined Glastonbury without a million armchair fans bitching. I remember in 1810 when Beethoven closed the Friday night, half of Twitter going ‘wake me up when he does the 5th lol’.

I too enjoyed Bearded Theory. Yard Act, Pigsx7, Viagra Boys, Skindred were particular favourites.
Arctic Monkeys are awful.
I managed to miss Yard Act, wanted to see them but they clashed with someone else. Now wild about the few minutes of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs or Skindred that I watched but I did find Viagra Boys disgustingly wonderful. I broke off from Gogol Bordelo (almost the same as when I last saw them fifteen or so years ago) and was talking to an ageing punk who had done the same to get in place at the Meadow Stage, his enthusiasm for this bizarre bunch of Swedes was warranted.
As someone who grew up with punk, with its emphasis on small venues and disdain for stadium rock, places like Glastonbury have never had any appeal for me, especially with all those crowds and loads of artists I would have absolutely no interest in.
I might add that I have never had any interest in seeing ageing punk bands, having seen Stiff Little Fingers in 1987 (when they reformed) who were a pale shadow of the band when I first saw them in 1980.
