....I was chatting to my elderly neighbour at the weekend.
When I enquired about her family, she told me that her daughter in law had tested positive for the rona.
I asked if she was OK and she replied by saying:

His daughter, visiting later when I was called to the ward again about him by the incoming nightshift(because something hadn't been handed over properly and Forms Had Not Been Filled In) remarked with a chuckle 'I see the stubborn old b*gger's going out the way he's lived then'. | |

Serious reply - black comedy can be a big crutch in helping to get through bad times - lots of it around in WW2 I believe, and some of the best literature makes it a feature - Brecht (esp 'Mother Courage'), Laurence Sterne (Tristram Shandy), Oscar Wilde, Alfred Jarry (Ubu Roi). |  |
