We get 350 million Covid-19 cases a week. Let's die of ordinary diseases instead.

If there is no elevated temperature, it is less likely to be C-19 (more one of the myriad of other winter colds which normally go around and haven't stopped this year, either). However, I'm not a doctor so don't take my word for it.

I believe it's usually the fever that comes first so sounds like just a normal winter cold. That is not official advice though.

If you are unsure then just keep BDS junior off - the school aren't going to complain at the moment.

To talk to anybody on 111 you basically have to lie!

It's for the best. Should be adequate ventilation. Just leave a bit of food once in a while if you remember. And if your shed is anything like my old one, there'll be plenty of water coming in with all this rain. Job done.

Similar with this man child.

I've felt like I've been fighting something for a few days, finally woke up with the sniffles and a sore throat. No fever though and just feels like a standard cold.

Meant to be away this weekend for the GF's birthday, so assume I'm fine to carry on. Usually I wouldn't give it a second thought. Current climate is spooning me out though.

I think you are probably right but that's going to be very hard for a lot of parents.

Society just isn't setup to handle not having the schools during the day.

yeah got my Mum and brother's* birthday party this saturday, but not sure if I have a sore thoat coming on. Think it may be the mind playing tricks (yet a-fcking-gain), so think its ok to go still. Also, it may be the last chance to see them for a while (who knows?)

Thank goodness those school holidays have been done away with.

(I know, we get advance notice about that and are used to dealing with them year in, year out).

I'd better go and do some work, before the Government tells me I'm not allowed to. Once the tiles are grouted, at least my customer can have his kitchen back.

I had my first try at tile grouting the other day - reuslts wise, its lucky that they're roughcut tiles and meant to look a bit shonkey!

There are holiday clubs during the school holidays which essentially mean nothing changes (except you have to pay).

Those aren't going to be available - it's a totally different situation as you've highlighted.

I have two coffee shops/bistros. One in the High Street, the other in a Shopping centre.

In the high street we are about 70% down and the street is dead. In the shopping centre we are about 30% a day down but our saving grace is we are opposite a Tesco metro, a Superdrug and a Boots so we are getting a few panic buyers in.

But they are mostly coffee and cakes rather than meals.

I didn't realise you owned a bistro - do you do the cooking?

Hopefully people will continue to go out and eat until the government advice tells them otherwise and you and your staff are OK. I guess the government pledges yesterday would help you if you have to close?

On a positive note from the stats so far it seems very few children are catching it.

Do they have a runny nose? As that seems to be the one difference between the common cold and Corona although they aren't exclusive ie you can have common cold and corona virus at the same time so the runny nose could be misleading.

The official guidance appears to be contact the school and let them decide
