Mings to West Brom 08:15 - Aug 28 with 4749 viewsNorthern_Blue81

Reported this morning in the DM.

Would we receive a sell on fee if he were to move for the reported 10m fee?

I seem to remember Pulis wanted him a few seasons back. As for sell-on, if we do I think we'll only see a few hundred thousand.

Sell-ons are normally based on the profit the selling club are making on the deal, aren't they?

So, if Mings was valued at say £6m as part of the £8m deal that Bmouth paid, we would hopefully get a percentage of the £4m profit they are going to make.

That's how I understand it, anyway.

Pretty sure we get 20% of fee +50% of any profit over £8M

That would have been an amazing deal, getting 20% of any fee, even if no profit was made. Where did you hear that as a likely structure for the deal?

That would mean, if they sold him for £20M we'd get £10M (£4M for the 20% and £6M for 50% of profit). It wouldn't be worth them selling him.

No club would agree to that. If we have anything over 10% any profit made I'd be amazed.

I doubt anyone would do a deal like that. There is a sell-on but it will be something along the lines of 10 per cent of any profit on whatever Bournemouth have paid us. Initial fee was £8m plus potentially another £2m, probably relating to appearances if it's anything like the Cresswell deal, which he's unlikely to have triggered as he's only made six league starts and three sub appearances.

in today's inflated market the sell-on may be worth hedging and selling to an investor.

Why not.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

I think Pulis would play him at left back as he likes a big back 4 and has been playing Brunt there recently.
If he goes there and plays left back I can see him being a big success and getting his career back on track again

The mystery still remains as to why Howe has decided to play him centre back

I know Daniels has been excellent but Mings was still a fairly inexperienced left back, let alone being thrown into centre back following a long injury lay off

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
