Might depend on when we play them. Pochettino is a good manager but he has taken all season to get Chelsea functional. A dispirited Hammers squad unsure of who may be coming in to replace them (Lopetegui practically downed tools at Wolves because he wasn't being backed for transfers) may seem them languishing until next spring. | |

We did the same under Evans, talk to someone whilst the current manager was in post. Jim to Keane is the one which stands out. Admittedly, we did actually sack the incumbent before announcing the successor. | |

He's out of contract in the summer, so he won't be sacked. It's a contingency plan. Julen Lopetegui has proven successful.
The other good thing is that they will stop sniffing around our manager. KM won't leave us for a league position or club history. He would only move to a club that has everything in place or is putting things together. It would make a whole lot of sense for Man Utd. to try and poach him if they are getting organized off the pitch. | | | |

I would say that's normal. If you have a manager coming towards the end of their contract/going to be sacked lots of clubs would already start to gauge if potential replacements were interest in joining them. OK not offer an actual contract but still going behind the manager's back |  | | |

Don't understand the drama. Hasn't been sacked. His contract is up and they've decided to look at someone else to take the club further. Could all be very amicable behind the scenes. Coincidentally Lopetegui was named Real Mardrid manager whilst he was preparing the national side for the 2018 World Cup. The Spanish FA sacked him and Spain had a dreadful campaign and didn't get out of their group. Lopetegui was sacked 3 months later by Madrid. | | | |
