I tried to start a rival Socialist Football League but Cleverley's mob turned up before I'd got it going and punctured my balls and said I was 'offside' and that there was no room at all for the left winger in the modern game.

Does this relate to the EFL deal?

I've heard pundits speak out against it today.

Yes, he’s saying in multiple tweets that the top clubs who voted against sharing money with those lower down the leagues are greedy and acting disgracefully. He’s strongly called out the team he supports (Villa) and those he’s played for (Forest and Liverpool)

Given the sh!t that City are going to be in, when eventually they are taken to task for their cheating, they are just looking to look after themselves for the future.

As for head choppers Utd, I have no idea of their motives, but I can guarantee they're not benevolent for the success of the English football pyramid.

It's greed and nothing more.

TV deals, Parachute Payments, keeping the cash in the Premier League is all dictated by the Premier League clubs.
It's exactly why an independent regulator is required, as the Prem clubs are only ever going to decide what's best for them.

I think I see why he’s getting at but I don’t know why he’s surprised or upset. The biggest clubs in the country have always been the greediest. And I feel a lot, not always, but a lot of the time clubs going bust or out of business is to do with competence not finance.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I shared this before, this article from Crystal Palace co-owner explains the current financial landscape around football quite transparently.
