If we are talking about the Highways Agency, what about this continued disgrace of a mess the A14 is with the road works between Stowmarket and Woolpit.
45 mins it took last night to come back from Bury direction, all because it goes down to one lane.
They have allocated themselves 18 months to do the work, and you barely see anyone day or night actually doing anything.
If this was in Europe or Asia it would be sorted out in 3 months.
A disgusting waste of money and more importantly people's time! |  | | |

The traffic is mainly caused because people can’t drive properly.
Apparently highways wants to shut the Woolpit slip road at peak times but then the people of Elmswell and Wetherden will moan even more. |  |

I get that but why do repairs take so long?
Surely it would make more sense to pay more per day to get it done quicker - ie have more people/equipment working on it but for a shorter period of time. Perhaps more overnight and weekend work. The short term cost may be more but there would likely be a substantial long term saving. And it would cause less disruption to motorists.
Its ridiculous the amount of equipment that sits around idle at roadwork sites. |  |

I am all for improvements, but 18 months really? Going at a snails pace.
