I used to be with Vodafone and could barely ever browse while in the ground.
Have been with 3 and O2 since and have no issues now even with a full gate. |  |

Tesco definitely arent, but its because they are an MVNO, mobile virtual network operator hanging off O2, so you find if the cell is busy, you tend to get the lowest priority access.
really I think the problem is the capacity of the cells around the ground are sized for the normal throughput they have, not the one off 20,000+ extra hit they get during half times.
but Ive seen people streaming video during games so some networks cope.
it would make more sense to just offer free wifi round the ground imo. | | | |

I've got O2 and Vodafone sims in my phone, and both are pretty rubbish at peak times.
Sometimes I'll get a bit more joy by switching to 4G, but even that's very hit and miss. | |

vodafone don't yet have 5g coverage in Ipswich at all. I would hope and expect that when they do it'll be ok, as like you i can rarely if ever get anything whilst in the ground |  | | |

I get decent Vodafone 4G signal in the corners of the North lower and upper as well as the whole of the Britannia lower. Intermittent anywhere else without switching to 3G, which seems to be fine everywhere. I wonder (but have no idea) how much it depends on the handset and your settings - for instance ultra-wideband capability. | |

Depends which bit, whilst Tesco struggle in town I get a great 4g & 5g signal up Spring Rd Woodbridge east near the hospital. As the cell tower is on the hospital roof.
Equally if you're on EE you'll get 5g in the Fat Cat as the mast is directly opposite.
But start moving down the hill towards town and signal drops away alot. | | | |

It’s not the reception that’s bad it’s the level of contention in the data links. I have Vodafone and get full bars at the ground but rarely any data connectivity. Basically Vodafone don’t provide sufficient bandwidth at the local cell site to cope with the probable 1000’s trying to use it simultaneously. My son who sits next to me gets much better data service on his EE mobile. | | | |
