German (?) Football song? 15:33 - Jun 17 with 834 views | glasso | I just came back from holiday in Greece and spent many an evening at the kids' disco (I have kids. I'm not a total weirdo)... One song, called "und ich flieg wie einer flieger" (on Spotify if you care to look it up) sent everyone mental - inuding the adults, who ALL knew every word and all the dance moves. So I looked it up when I got home and it's on a playlist called Fussball WM Songs. Anyone here recognise it? I know there are a few German football aficionados on here so wondered if it was a big footy song and what the footy lyrics are?

Yeah that's the original, but I'm trying to work out why/if it's a football song?!

Perhaps this is the reason that “Fliegerlied” has become so popular at the world’s largest beer festival. “Fliegerlied” is essentially a children’s song. About animals. (Why wouldn’t people love this?) You don’t need to know the words for this one, but don’t you dare leave Munich without learning the dance moves." Heut' ist so ein schöner Tag!

Blimey. So it's a kids/booze song! Very German. I have to admit, I've grown to think it's a bit of a banger, but it might just be Stockholm syndrome setting in...
