We can afford to but he would need replacing and we could do with hanging onto him for that reason.

No one is indispensable, but he would be a huge loss. He’s a cut above Holy and Hladky, he has consistently performed since the Bolton game and he importantly instills confidence. We’d need someone in of a similar ilk to fill the void if Walton does go in January. Good sides generally have a solid and reliable keeper and they build forwards from there. Hoping we can tempt him to stay long term, but I’m not sure how feasible that would be? Surely he’d want to play higher and he’s certainly more than capable.

Frinton’s a great place to take the kiddies (wide expanse of a greensward with little to spend money on)
