I've seen Maiden live, got lots of their music and still love some of the old classics but for some reason can't get into them anymore like I used to. I seem to have drifted into doom and stoner rock now.

In all fairness, a lot of doom and stoner stuff is very heavily rooted in old-skool sounds, it ticks boxes that a lot of modern metal doesn't.
I'm currently digging Pallbearer, a lot.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Although 1000mods are my favourites there are so many good Greek bands around.
The Greek punk and metal scenes are crazy good right now. I developed aa serious Bandcamp habit during lockdown 1.0, because it's like an online version of a mad old record shop that sells you weird sh*t that the owner has somehow divined you'll like and then puts you onto OTHER weird sh*t you'll like.
Which is how I discovered the Greek punk and metal scene.

I think it's to Maiden's immense credit that they haven't rested on past glories and have constantly sought to take their style and sound to new places some 40-odd years down the line. there's so many 'legacy' or 'classic' acts out there who insist on just churning out material from 30+ years ago.

Do you like Opeth sir? 1998-2005 era hard to beat.

It's brilliant, can't stop listening to it.
Agreed. A great piece of Art at such a late stage in their career. They are threatening to do a smaller venue tour and play the whole album. Id be right up for that.

These guys are one of my favourite bands of the last 3 or 4 years. Possibly more psych than stoner, but def got a foot in both camps. They do a good video too.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

We have a lot of their road crew staying at my work from time to time. I think they have a warehouse around here they store a lot of their kit. They'll be a couple of of weeks when the bookings for half the rooms are for Iron Maiden on the booking computer and it really is them because they've been coming for years. Not the band, never seen any of them but for some reason their roadies love our place.
