Wycombe Referee 11:59 - Dec 16 with 4393 viewsflimflam

Speaking to a chap over the weekend who is high up in referring world and said the referee for the Wycombe match got marked down for 5 major errors

1 - Ipswich goal should of stood. Linesman said if Ipswich player had touched ball then he was offside but was unsure he had touched the ball. Ref ruled goal out so no fault on the lino.
2 - Wycombe pen was outside the box
3 - Ipswich should have had an obvious pen - cant remember what for
4 - Ipswich should of had a player sent off - my guess for the tackle leading up to the pen
5 - Cant remember as was a bit drunk

Funny thing is the following week same ref was reffing Stowmarket Town match.

All men and women are created, by the, you know the, you know the thing.

Referee appointments up to 4th Jan are made already:

Lincoln City FC (First Team) v Ipswich Town F.C. (First Team)
Football League 1
Referee: Oldham, James
Assistant Referee: Ward, Christopher
Assistant Referee: Farmer, Aaron
Fourth Official: Grunnill, Wayne

The plus is that we don't get Keith Stroud any more.

Right, sorry.

Donacien should have been off for a second yellow though.

Surely if he realised it should have been a red for the tackle by Donacien then he shouldn’t have played advantage and should have stopped play to either show him a 2nd yellow or a straight red?

Unless it’s violent conduct I thought that a ref could play the advantage even for a second yellow

This is correct, he doesn't have to stop play and he should have gone back for the second yellow. That was literally the only one of his numerous glaring errors that went in our favour though.

He was, by a mile, the worst ref I've seen at Portman Road and I include Keith Stroud in that. The lino was a clown as well, and their combined incompetence seemed to multiply their individual shortcomings. The officiating was so terrible in that game and so one-sided it was hard not to leave with the impression the ref was corrupt.
