A new scenario to achieve a no-deal Brexit. 11:02 - Aug 5 with 1593 viewsOldsmoker

If Johnson calls a General election at the end of September then Parliament is dissolved for 6 weeks. There would be no way the House of Commons could do anything to stop a no-deal Brexit on 31st Oct.
The HOC is back from summer recess on 3rd September which gives them just a 3 week window to do something.

Only two ways we can have general election early. First is by a vote in HoC but requires two thirds of MPs to vote for it and doubt any remainders would do that knowing it guaranteed Brexit.

There could be a vote of no confidence of course which presumably would mean if no government formed within 14 days a general election five weeks later. Not sure if the vote by parliament requiring a debate on northern Ireland would mean a further delay.

A third way is for BJ to call it, just as May did in 2017 when she thought she would get a stonking majority.

May didn't call it she asked parliament to.

There is absolutely no way a no-deal brexit can be seen as 'an achievement'.

And an impressive collection of climate deniers, Neo-liberals and religious, nationalist and race supremacist nutters.

So, in other words, rather too many of our own politicians and media, not to mention the awful people around the world who are trying to interfere in our politics.

Due to the Fixed Term Parliament Act of 2011 a PM now needs a two thirds vote in the commons to call an early general election.

He can't, the fixed term parliament act limits his powers without the backing of the house.

Except, it seems, that it would be for the Americans, the Chinese, Farage, an impressive collection of climate deniers, Neo-liberals and religious, nationalist and race supremacist nutters and of course, Putin.

The board regulars, collectively, have really excelled here.

Quite brilliant.
