Fair dos - hope you're right.

Ftse down again this morning on 10:08 - Dec 6 by GlasgowBlue | Withdraw article 50 is a guaranteed way to shore up, and perhaps even increase, a leave vote. |
Maybe but it's the only way to buy the time needed to have the vote. I'm not looking for a route to undermine either side of the vote or increase either side - just something that's actually possible. SB

Ftse down again this morning on 10:15 - Dec 6 by giant_stow | We can probably cancel article 50 if things get sticky. |
I doubt there is a majority in the commons for withdrawing article 50. But we will soon find out. The DUP have said they will back the government in a confidence motion if May’s deal is voted down. So there is now no prospect of Labour forcing a general election. Labour conference voted that if there isn’t a general election they would support a second refendum so I expect to see Jezza propose this next week.

Corbyn seems all too keen to sign his own death warrant with this call for a general election. He'd be resigning the day after an election.

That maybe the case now - I'll take your word for it, you been the politico, but that may change if we're a week before the leave date and nothings settled. Hope you're right about a 2nd referendum being more likely than a general election - that's massive priority that needs sorting.

Ftse down again this morning on 10:06 - Dec 6 by StokieBlue | So wouldn't the solution be: 1) Withdraw article 50. 2) Hold a remain vs no deal referendum. 3) Act on the result whichever way it goes. That way people can't say they didn't know what they were voting for, there is no uncertainty on the two positions and if we remain it's on the same terms as before this all started. We aren't going to get a "good" deal so might as well stop trying to head down that path. SB [Post edited 6 Dec 2018 10:08]

It is pretty clear that if Article 50 is with drawn there will be no re-run of this pantomime we have had for 2 years. It will almost certainly be 'play by the book, leave then negotiate the bits you wish to be involved in once you are out'.

Isn't it all a worthwhile price to pay for leaving the EUSSR? I'm not a Brexiteer so you'll have to find the answers with the big-brains who were promising us milk and honey. |

Oh wow, what a great idea! They could just save money! I'm sure they didn't think of that. Why if they quit drinking for a few months they'd have it. Its not like deposits are usually around 10 grand when you have to pay high rents. And that's without having to pay for all the other bits and pieces like lawyers. It's definitely not like just this week there was a study showing that a high number of younger people buying houses have to rely on their parents to help with the deposit. I know it's hard for you but try actually engaging your brain once In a while.

Ftse down again this morning on 10:47 - Dec 6 with 2794 views | BloomBlue | If you looked at the evidence pre the vote you would have seen one of the benefits brexit would bring was affordable housing - a major benefit for the country. Unfortunately remainers are rich and privilege and only interested in the value of their own home.
