Can always get the train via every port and p*sshole from Waterloo - you'll end up spending less money per minute then?

I paid £52 return from Ipswich yesterday, the cheap tickets had already all gone, the lady in the ticket office said they’d sold quite a lot for Reading on 10th November.

Chance of an Inter City 125 fron Paddington too, before they phase them out.

Your real problem will be getting back to the station after the game. The shuttle buses park outside the home end & have usually gone by the time the away fans get there so you have to wait 40 minutes for them to return of face a miserable 50 minute walk, most of which is alongside a dual carriageway.

Or if you're with mates, get a taxi to the station. It costs pretty much the same as the bus...

Or do what I did last year and leave 5 mins early - made it back to the station with ease (but missed two town goals...). That’s what happens when you take your old man who stresses about traffic.

Not strictly true

The walk back takes you past three pubs before you get to town, where again, you walk past about half a dozen more watering holes. A nice stroll.
